*OFFICIAL* UW Class of 2010 Acceptance List

I got in to UW Honor's! I'm very excited, since this was my first choice. Honor's sent an email a few days ago, and UW sent the letter about a week before that.
By the way - if you're status check reads as "admission decision made", you can log-in to your myUW, go to the student page, and click on the "unofficial transcript". If you are accepted, it will show you as a Freshman in 2006. It's quicker than waiting for the letter or the website to update.
Good luck everyone!

Congratulations, KO1987! That's very exciting, and I'm sure you'll have a fabulous educational experience. Word of advice, though, there is no aphostraphe in Honors, or any other common plural :)

:( Of course, I could check my spelling a little more closely -- that's apostrophe.

Ha! Thanks for the grammer tip. I never was great at it!

KO1987 - CONGRADS!!!! Lucky you! Did you apply through priority? And if it's not too personal, could post some stats? I applied through priority and I STILL haven't heard from them yet. :(

would love to see you in seatle!!!!

KO1987!
thats a very big deal! are you in-state or out-of-state?

Thanks!!! I'm in-state, and I did apply by the priority deadline - earlier actually. I sent in my UW application in late October and sent the Honors application in mid-November. So it took me about a month or more to hear back. Hmmm stats - I've got a 4.0, Full-IB, and various activities, mostly theatre is the only thing I did with real continuity, and I work. Anyways, I've heard from former students (both Honors and non) that the time you hear back is totally random - some hear right away, others months later, even if they applied by priority...

IB? Do you any chance go to Interlake High?
The Honors program is so competitive. Its like applying to a highly selective liberal arts college. =P

Nope, I'm actually down in Olympia - fun place.

ACCEPTED:

OOS from Nevada
3.83 UW
31 ACT
1340/1950 SAT

They put me in the Arts&Sciences College

hey bill,

when did you find out and when did you submit your application?

I submitted my app on of the last possible days for the priority deadline, I think like in late November. And my online status changed to Dec. 30 but I didn't know I could find out until about 5 minutes ago.

Bill5, congratulations! Welcome to the land of rain and trees.

KO1987.. congrats on getting into Honors!

I was accepted into the UW Honors Program and FRAP when I applied last year, but like KO1987 said, the time it takes for you hear back is pretty random. Two of my friends found out that they didn't get into Honors around January, and I didn't find out about my acceptance until around March (I think?). I heard back about FRAP a lot sooner than I did about Honors.

I apologize for providing only general time frames. Congrats again, KO1987, on your acceptance. I've heard from friends that Honors at UW is tough, but totally worth it! They seem to be enjoying their experience thus far.

ACCEPTED, REGULAR + HONORS!!!!!!! :D I just found out about Honors today, by e-mail, and I recieved the regular admissions decision 2 weeks ago by snail mail. I submitted both my apps about the last week of November.

Major: Neuroscience
Instate (eastern WA)
4.0 UW
1/460something
2280 (800 V 760 M 720 W)

I'm so happy! Congrats to fellow acceptees (and possibly classmates?). And hang in there to those who are still waiting!

ACCEPTED
i was reaaally surprised to hear back so soon. i dont think there is any pattern to how they accept. i turned in my app 12/01 via snail mail, and i heard back in 3 weeks. i know kids who have turned it in Thanksgiving AND have better scores/gpa than me, yet they havent even gone thru an initial review. its a toss up!

ccbouncer and thechiiguin, congratulations! You both have an exciting academic journey ahead of you. thechiiguin, if you get a chance, take a class with or go to a lecture by William H. Calvin --http://faculty.washington.edu/wcalvin/ -- a very smart fellow in the neuroscience field.

ACCEPTED a few days ago.
Was invited to apply for honors program but didn't because I am considering other schools more seriously.

3.98 GPA
2170 SATs
Born and raised in Washington

scholarific, UW makes a darned good safety! Where else are you hoping to get accepted?

Already got in to Seattle U and SPU and have yet to hear from Whitman. I will probably end up at SU in the fall. My parents won't let me go far... only child syndrome. I like the idea of a smaller school so that's why I am not strongly considering UW
