***Official UW Class of 2022 Decision Thread***

Bless up

It’s not that hard to get into CS as long as you do well in those intro class. I got into CS in first year winter quarter, with an okay gpa

@huskybound I can attest this is inaccurate information and this answer was never given by the Office of Admissions.

@UWadmissionstaff Typically how long would it take admission mail to reach homes in the Greater Seattle area after they are released?

Ok so can people NOT post inaccurate information like that b/c I’m getting stressed and excited and then the admissions staff says it’s wrong

@UWadmissionstaff can you please give a ballpark of when decisions will be online? I understand it takes time I just don’t want to constantly refresh if you know they won’t be released before a certain day

@PandaLeaves - I think you maybe the exception. I read a lot about CS/COE program at UW and all indicated that if you don’t get direct admit, then it would be very difficult to get into CS/COE programs afterwards. The article below says it all. They are making changes to the COE this year but still no change for CS program.

Literally office admissions say “between now and the 15th” like it’s cruel to Washington students who only applied to the uw for their prestige education. Here we are just refreshing this page and believing any info some teen is posting. Why can’t they just relieve us already. Yghhh

I am so eager to hear back! What majors did you all apply to?

Atmospheric Sciences. Really hope I get in but it’ll cost so much anyways if I get in so idk if I’ll be able to attend

This is nothing new. It’s been like this (a window, not a day) in years past. It can be hard in the hallways of WA high schools when some kids have heard and others haven’t.

Even if decisions start rolling out tomorrow, everyone has to be mentally prepared to be one of the unlucky ones who has to wait for the last release day.

@Huskybound are you serious? some are released today?

I just wanted to say that today I talked to a counselor at UW that came to my community college. Definitely hounded him for when decisions would come out! He said that it’s very soon but he couldn’t give me a day, which is what we’ve heard before. He also let me know they’ll come out in waves and I can’t get nervous if other people have heard and I haven’t. He basically just said to relax and until we hear, not to assume and not to be crazily refreshing my UW account. It was some reassurance I needed as I woke up this morning without a decision again

I applied to UW all the way from NJ and I’m in the middle of a massive power outage right now because of the nor’easter we just had. Literally the only thing getting me up now a days is that maybe the decisions might come today! I’m very nervous because I’m out of state but we’ll see. All I know is that if I go to UW I won’t have to deal with snow as bad as out here.

@labegg hahaha that was exactly what I was thinking! Like you literally have one of the best CS programs in the country/world but don’t have people who can make software that will update all portals at once? Sounds weird but I bet they are trying to do everything they can to send them out as soon as possible.

If you are so positive on that you must know when they will be released - stop playing games if you are really associated with the Univ -not helpful at all.

I’m sure this has been asked and answered ad nauseam but do FA packages come with acceptances? (Assuming one is accepted of course)

Some of you need to RELAX! March 1st-15th isn’t a long wait. I would love to find out if I got into UW this month, but as a transfer, I don’t know when I’ll find out. & if it’s in June & July like they say on the website well then I’m screwed. Some of you will find out soon enough, the admissions department are doing everything they can to get notifications out and can’t always give you a straight answer, you’ll just have to wait and be patient.

Hey, guys. I called UW today and the admissions person kindly confirmed that the representative on this site is legit. I know some of you will still not believe it, but I’m just putting it out there. The 5,000 thing was completely fake. Believe me, I am on the edge of my seat just as you all are, but let’s not blame the UW representative on this site as he or she is being considerate enough to prevent false rumors from spreading! There is only so much information that can be shared, so let’s be grateful that we at least have one reliable source. The people at UW are doing what they can. Patience is a virtue, my friends. And best of luck to you all!

I don’t think it’s right to tell people who are anxious and wanting a decision to “chill out”. All of us (freaking out or not) have been waiting for a decision for what feels like ages. It’s been a LONG time. Reading so many applications and making 45,000 decisions is a monumental task for four months- but it’s not cool to tell people they can’t be worried or uneasy. Yeah, 2 weeks isn’t a long time in comparison to the months we’ve already been waiting but the decision is undeniably getting closer and could happen at any moment and that makes the wait A LOT harder. Let’s all just be kind to one another- we’re all in the same boat here.
