@Qnalin I’m sorry that you feel that way. This thread is made for us to share our concerns with each other. And yes, we’re all nervous, so yes, this thread is filled with people freaking out. If you don’t want to read it, you don’t have to. Just wait until after March 15th when all of the panic stops. I get that it sucks seeing the same questions and comments for tens of pages, but we’re all just trying to make it through. There’s no reason for you to react so heavily.
@monkeyg56 I don’t know why you’re apologizing. What I stated isn’t how i’m feeling but rather what i’m seeing.
I’m not gonna stop reading this thread because there is some valuable information, especially from UW admissions. Plus, many posters here are decent and reasonable. I’m just saying that many of you are making this unnecessarily harder on yourselves, which is fine if you keep it to yourself or your diary but quite frankly no one else wants to read it.
And I didn’t react heavily at all, in fact I changed my post last minute because I know some of you are very fragile.
Just wanted to greet everyone and wish you all good luck! This time surely is stressful for all of us, but I assure you that the result will make the wait all worth it! Don’t stress and don’t get too anxious. In the end, we will all end up where we are meant to end up. If that means elsewhere, then so be it. Nevertheless, good luck everybody!
literally chill™ if anyone’s throwing a tantrum, it’s you by sitting here and pissing on everybody’s concerns because you decided to voluntarily read this thread and didn’t like what you saw. your rhetoric is extremely condescending and unnecessary; maybe you should be the one talking to your diary at the moment instead of being a uppity on a CC thread :") everyone is stressed, and everyone can feel free to talk about it w/o people like you attacking us “entitled children” @Qnaiin
Looks like i’ve struck a nerve… Dang my post really got under your skin lmao. And i’m chilling, cant say the same for you and your socially inept brethren that can’t stop throwing tantrums at UW admissions.
I’ve even said that it’s only a few annoying posters, and there’s nothing wrong with being nervous or posting about being nervous in the thread. It’s those that keep reposting the same nonsense multiple times and act like UW admissions scammed them.
We are all nervous about the decisions being delayed, so as a result we are expressing this here. Of course you got under our skin, you insulted us.
You don’t have to hate on people, calling us “entitled children” and “fragile”. When you say that kind of stuff, that’s implying that you think there IS something wrong with being nervous, so please don’t pretend you think otherwise.
If you disagree with a post, ignore it. But insulting people is unacceptable. There’s enough negativity from people like you already. Thx!
@monkeyg56 , @optimise You guys are great. I love people who stand up to bullies.
Hello! I don’t speak for everyone, but I’d like to ask you to kindly realize that for some of us, these decisions are the culminations of four years of hard work, if not longer. We were given a window instead of a day, and it is very nerve wracking to wake up every morning and not know if your decision has been posted. It’s just like checking your phone for a reply because you’re nervous about a text you sent. Yes, some people are stressed and are expressing their frustration. I myself, being a student, have been frustrated with this process even though I understand UW needs time. However, I check this thread because it’s comforting to know that my impatience isn’t irrational. I would rather check this thread than email admissions everyday for news. I mean no disrespect. I hope you can understand. Thank you!
I’m just terrified at this point. Anybody else feels like the days are just rolling on? I know that I’m making it into a bigger deal than it actually is and that I’ll end up where I meant to but Washington is my #1 and just AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
To reiterate again the decisions are not “delayed”. The notification period is and has been March 1st -March 15th before the application even opened. A window means the decisions can come out at anytime. Never was it insinuated nor outwardly said it would be March 1st. The process is much more complicated than most would assume and selection is still happening. The majority should know soon. Someone recently commented soon is subjective and yes it is, but we are trying our hardest to let most know by hopefully the end of the week, which I articulated on Sunday.
@UWadmissionstaff I appreciate the patience and kindness you are showing to us, I understand how frustrating it can be for people, including myself, asking the same questions over and over again. I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you do.
@UWadmissionstaff I guess we have different interpretations of “delayed” based on the context of the advertisement, but at the end of the day, I know all of us will see our decisions before March 15. As you mentioned, most will likely see by the end of this week. Thank you again for all of the hard work you and the rest of the team have put into holistically reading the enormous number of applications. I understand that the process is complicated and I apologize on behalf of everyone, including myself, who has complained and let their anxiety take control. it’s just been a long 5 months
