I got in but I am totally heartbroken. Did not get direct admission to engineering so based on what I’ve read about the prospects of getting in, I won’t be attending.
I’ve been a die hard husky fan my whole life. Parents are both UW engineering grads but we currently live oos due to my Dad’s military service. I would be a fourth generation husky in my family.
Was accepted to University of Virginia as a Rodman scholar, top 5% of their incoming engineering class. Accepted to Virginia Tech in their honors program and won the davenport scholarship but I can’t get into UW engineering, because my address reads oos, that bites.
@UWadmissionstaff thank you that’s very reassuring! And also what would the portal say if we are waitlisted? Will emails be sent tomorrow with the rest of the acceptance?
Dear Admissions Officer:
I applied to the College of Engineering for Mechanical Engineering, but the portal says I am admitted to a Pre-Major in the Arts and Sciences School. What does that mean? Does that mean that I didn’t qualify to be directedly admitted to the College of Engineering and if I attended, may not be able to graduate with an engineering degree? Thank you for any information.
“A small percentage of students are accepted directly to majors as freshmen. For all but Business and Computer Science, students admitted directly to the major will be notified 1-2 weeks after general admission decisions are made.” ← UW Website
