***Official UW Class of 2022 Decision Thread***

No, my assigned major says Pre Major. According to the freshman admission to majors page this means no direct admission

Anyone else who’s a WA state resident show as a Non-Resident?

I am guessing my dual citizenship caused confusion.

Accepted!! DA to Business Administration
OOS California
SAT: 1450
UW GPA: 3.95
Heavy extracurricular/leadership

@3boy$$$ mine and my friend’s says non-resident as well  maybe it’s an error

Any CS direct admits in here? I got put into pre-science. SAT: 1460 UW GPA: 4.0

I got direct to college. Essentially direct to college is direct admission to engineering major you wish upon pursuing. Good luck to everyone out there and great job. You are meant to be where god puts you. Reply to me if you have any questions.

Accepted into College of Engineering.

Instate applicant.

SAT: 750 M, 650 EBRW

GPA: 3.99 UW

Junior Year: 3 APs

Senior Year: 5 APs

Wrote my essay on how chess has taught me to learn for a life time.

I got in!

@UWadmissionstaff I got rejected but recently I found out I had ADHD throughout high school and I wasn’t diagnosed until 2nd semester of my senior year. I’m pretty sure this was preventing me from maintaining a good GPA. If I were to write an appeal about this would admissions reconsider? Let me know it would really help!

Rejected from UW/English Major. I knew it was coming but I’m kinda just relieved the wait is finally over so i can accept WSU. Who knows? Maybe I’ll like it better there or I’ll transfer after a year or two. Anyways happy for those who made it! Congrats! Good luck! Go Huskies!
And for those who didn’t make it: you can appeal or just transfer too. You did your best, all that matters is it isn’t the end of the world. Wherever you go or whatever you do, you can do it!

Accepted! I literally screamed inside an Olive Garden haha… Go Dawgz!

Stats & others:

  • In-state
  • 3.85 UW
  • ACT: 21 (My area is very small and poverty-ridden… avg act score is 16, with highest in the past 4 years being a 24. Admissions may have taken that into account)
  • Robotics (President, Lead Programmer), ASB (President), National Honor Society (VP), Knowledge Bowl (VP), Filipino American Student Association (VP), Junior Miss Candidate
  • 200+ hours community service
  • Essays talk about poverty, gang violence in community, being gay, being an immigrant and overcoming these hardships
  • 6 AP and UW in the classroom courses throughout high school

@UWadmissionstaff got accepted into engineering undeclared. Say after first year, I want to pursue a major in another non engineering field, like CS or economics. Is that possible and will I be given equal consideration when I apply to declare my major after freshman year?

So I’m an international student and my portal has not updated yet, meanwhile, I’m just going to go on with my life. But I’m just wondering where on MyUW does it show if you’re admitted/denied? Is it after clicking the box that says “View your Freshman application status”? Thanks!

Accepted!!! Thanks to this forum I checked MyUW tonight, and I’m relieved, estatic, and extremely extremely happy. I wish the best of luck to all of you who are still waiting.

@UWadmissionstaff Do International Accepted Students also receive postal mail confirmation of their acceptance?

Is there anyone who hasn’t got a decision yet?

@shanny2 I think we do, don’t know when though. Will probably take around a week I’m guessing.

@4DagoBwl4o0 me! They said decisions are still coming out so

Got in! Just checked my portal. I’m an international student.

College of Arts and Sciences for the Jackson school of international studies

My D got accepted direct to engineering. She applied for Bioengineering and her assigned major shows up as Engineering-Unassigned which based on the information on UW web site tells us that she is admitted to her applied major. While we await snail-mail confirmation, we are excited, especially since my elder daughter graduated from UW Seattle last year!! We are OOS and having visited the campus before, it is a top choice for my D. Of course, scholarship is key for us, and we await further details on the same. No scholarship information is reflected in the admission details on the portal.
