***Official UW Class of 2022 Decision Thread***

Yeah, it doesn’t mean anything. When you click confirm, it takes you to another page where it says you have no offers from UW right now something like that. At least that’s what it says for me…

It may start working on March 1st, since by that time, they may have entered all admission information into the system, and they can’t predict when the USPS letters will arrive at students’ hands. What if someone in Seattle, U-district, got the mail the same day on March 1st and want to confirm right away? They should get that portal ready for the overly excited kids, right?

Ah ok! Thanks everyone

Good Afternoon from the University of Washington Office of Admissions! I want to give you some quick updates/reminders to hopefully put some of you more at ease.

  1. Admissions Decisions will be coming out between March 1st and March 15th. If you do not hear from us on March 1st, don't worry. It takes awhile to contact over 45,000 applicants!
  2. The link that was previously posted should not be used to check your admissions status. This link is only used to confirm your enrollment and is not an indicator of whether you have been admitted, denied admissions, or wait listed.
  3. To check your admissions status, you should use your MyUW account where you can check your status and also your assigned major at time of admission.
  4. Notifications: We mail packets to admitted applicants and email denied or wait listed applicants. We will only send an email to admitted students if the address we have on record is outside the United States.

@UWadmissionstaff , thanks for the clarification. Can you answer a few more questions that people raised earlier in this thread?

  1. Does the decision release follow a specific order? E.g. International, OOS, in-state, around Seattle? Or by College? Or by last name? Or by application date? Or completely random?
  2. When will the portal be updated? On March 15? Or March 1st? Or after the letter has been sent out for a few days?
  3. Direct to major and Direct to College decisions will come at the same time as admission decision, right?
  4. What about Honors decision?

Does scholarship information go out at the same time as admissions decisions?

The UW Honors notification period is March 19 to April 13.

“If you are offered an Honors scholarship, an additional award notification will be included with your Honors admission notification.”

https://honors.uw.edu/apply/freshman/

In past years, the Purple and Gold Scholarship award (for US OOS students) was included in the acceptance letter. I am not sure about other scholarships or if they will include the Purple and Gold Scholarship awards in the acceptance letters this year.

Good luck to all!

@bogeyorpar

  1. There is no particular order to who is notified when.
  2. MyUW will be updated in batches as the waves of decisions are loaded. The system only allows a set number of updates per day so we can't notify everyone at once (although we wish we could!).
  3. Yes, in your offer letter (or on MyUW) you will see your assigned major).
  4. Honors decisions will follow a few weeks after regular decisions. The timeline is posted on their website: https://honors.uw.edu/apply/freshman/

The Purple & Gold scholarship (for U.S. non-residents) goes out with the offer letter, but all others go out with the financial aid award.

@UWadmissionstaff

Thank you for the information! Do you happen to know approximately how many decisions (out of the 45000) can be loaded per day on MyUW? And do you begin loading them in the portal on March 1st?

@UWadmissionstaff Thanks for coming on and being an authoritative source to answer all these questions. It’s been very edifying in these anxious times.

@UWadmissionstaff Thanks, as others noted above. I wish more schools did this so we can stop speculations and get info from a valid source.

I don’t have that information to share (the number the system can load per day), however, I can say with more certainty that decisions will probably start going out the week of March 5. When exactly? We simply can’t predict.

@UWadmissionstaff Thanks very much for the great communications!

@UWadmissionstaff when will financial aid information go out?

@UWadmissionstaff Thank you! So glad to get some helpful information. As you can tell many of us are super excited about UW!

@lwyant225 Financial aid notifications are typically sent approximately 2 weeks after admissions notifications.

@UWadmissionstaff will acceptances be sent out before waitlist/rejections or will all types of decisions be sent out in the March 1-15 window? Also, will acceptance letters be sent out before the 15th as well?

@Yay1234awesome All decisions, regardless of type, will be sent out between March 1st and March 15th. They will not be released in any particular order.

Hi guys, tomorrow marks the first day of decisions. Because of that I’m just going to ask that when you post your decision from the UW that you also post your stats. When I say that, I just mean also posting your: GPA, SAT score, AP classes, Running starter not, extracurricular activities including community service and any other information you may have included in your application. This is helpful to those who are still waiting for their decision. I wish the best of luck to everyone and Go Dawgs!
