@monkeyg56 I think maybe they’re just busy. They replied me back in 2017 so maybe now they’re just really busy reading applications. Did you ask a question in your email? I was only sending updated information, so maybe that’s why I received no reply because it wasn’t necessary.
@collegedream871 Yeah, I’ve sent them multiple emails asking them various questions. One was very clearly a question but the other was updated information along with a question so I can understand that they may not have seen the question and not replied for the second one. I think it’s just odd that they’d have a way to contact them, but then not reply for months. I know they have a huge applicant pool and are incredibly busy with that, but not taking the time to reply to their emails is unusual and not a very comforting sign.
I think they just dislike emails. My son also sent an email last year before applying. Never received a reply. So two days before the deadline, he called the admissions office and someone immediately picked up the phone and answered his questions. So, if no reply to your email answer, call. They seem to be much more responsive on the phone.
Hi everybody, I am an international student.
When I searched about the decisions, I saw that international students will also be notified by email rather than just snail mails. Anyone knows when would they do that? It would be a long wait if it is March 15…
Not international here, but they do everything in batches for domestic applicants. You have no way of knowing if your application will be in an earlier or later batch. It’s an anxious time in Washington high schools as the decisions slowly roll out. Be prepared to handle it if it does take until March 15th.
Hi everyone!
I am an international applicant, Indian, studying in Qatar. So I emailed UW about decisions and contrary to what I’ve seen here, I actually did receive a reply in about 2 days. I had asked if international applicants would also be getting mailed, and the reply was positive. Here it is:
"Thank you for your email.
Decisions will be sent out starting March 1 until March 15. We are unable to tell you when exactly you will hear about your specific application. You will be able to see the decision on the online portal.
We will only send a paper copy of your decision if you are accepted. If you are denied or waitlisted, you will only see it on the portal.
If you have any other questions, feel free to email us again.
Best Wishes,"
So she was clear that decisions will also be available on the portal right away.
@bogeyorpar Thank you for your advice. I think I will give them a call since I do want to know the answer.
The first admitted students day is scheduled for March 20th , with registration for the admitted students day beginning early March it says, so it sounds like everyone will hear back soon!
3 more days!
So they mail acceptances and don’t mail rejects/waitlists, does that mean we can access the online decision on portal by March 1st?
Right now we’ll just have to wait and see, the process seems as though it is made to stress us out more
Yes, you will able to view your decision online as well, as I was told by an admission officer yesterday. But the online portal can be updated anytime between March 1 to 15, so yeah nobody knows exactly when. Best bet is to check everyday from this Thursday.
Pretty sure there’s a link found from last year where you can check to see if you have an offer to accept/enroll.
Yup there is, found this. Check it out, but doesn’t work yet I believe.
https://sdb.admin.uw.edu/enroll/uwnetid/
will the mailed acceptance be mailed on march 1st, or will we receive it on march 1st
I don’t think anyone knows for sure at this point
March 1st is NOT decision DAY. It is the first day of the decision release WINDOW. Not everyone will be notified at the beginning of the window, but everyone should be notified by the end.
When I clicked on that link and signed in with myuw there was a button to confirm my admissions offer. Does anybody know if this means I was admitted?
@collegeyahboi my friend clicked on the button and it says that there are currently no offers being made towards admission. it sounds like that’s the link you will use after they send out admissions to confirm enrollment or decline
Click on that button and it will say “You don’t have any offer to confirm.”
