For those wondering, the acceptance rate for UW is generally 45-50%. Last year they had 45,911 applications, and accepted 22,351. The number enrolled in the freshman class was 7,141. This info is on UW’s Office of Admissions web site under Freshmen by the Numbers. Colleges accept far more people than actually end up attending because people apply to many schools. They have their yield rate down to a science.
@omnom2169 - same acceptance for my nephew. he applied for mechanical engineering, but accepted for pre major in arts & sciences. 3.85 UW, 35 ACT, 800/750 Math II/Physics SAT Subject tests.
I still didn’t get any update. Am I the only one?
Does anyone know the out of state acceptance rate?

@fdha951 I am sorry about wait-list. Your gpa and test score(impressive by the way) put you very high among all the applicants, why do you think you were wait-listed? I would highly suggest to appeal your decision if you still wish to intend! Good Luck!

Public health does not have a freshman direct admission pathway. Your “pre-public health” status indicates that UW Admissions and the School of Public Health have put you on track to take the prerequisite courses and request admission to the various public health majors (BA or BS) through early admission or upper division admission, as more fully described on these pages:
http://sph.washington.edu/prospective/
https://www.washington.edu/students/gencat/academic/school_public_health.html
(Click “Undergraduate Program” link.)
Congratulations on your admission, and good luck!
Waitlisted OOS (SF, CA)
UW 3.65 W3.85
only took 3 AP’s total
SAT 1260
strong essays and appealing demographics were pulls for me which I think probably threw me into the waitlist pool rather than rejection. when I visited campus my freshman year the admissions officer said they strongly favor your GPA over your SAT/ACT scores and essays can really help you make up for lower stats. I’m hearing that they rarely admit waitlist students which is disappointing because if accepted I would attend UW without a doubt
oof waitlisted for design ooc?
weighted 3.81
ACT: 33
Anyone know if there’s a UW groupchat?
