I talked to my counselor yesterday; She said that they send out decisions on a weekly basis. My app was complete March 14 and it has yet to have been looked at–according to her. There could be some order by state, but not by completion time. I do not think they send out all acceptances first then all rejections. That would defeat the purpose of rolling admission. For example, if some dude or dudette does not quite cut it that would mean they would have to put the app aside until ALL others applications are looked at, then send out the rejects. There would be a disproportionate amount of mailings sent out each week. And it would be unethical. Just because vandy doesnt want them does not mean that they do not exist.
Maybe that is just wishful thinking, but it does sound right… Right?

Zain,

I do not know if you are correct or not. All I know is that some schools seem to notify all rejected students at the same time and it tends to be towards the very end of their mailing period.

Maybe you are right guy. Because, if there is a limited number of transfer students that a college can accept. Those that are rejects or borderline rejects are put aside while all the clear winners flow through. If spots are available they fill them with the borderlines. However, that would not be a rolling admission; Vandy claims a rolling admission.

I agree, but unless I am mistaken I believe that Cornell has “rolling” admissions as well but from last years mailing records, it seems that rejected students were notified in their last wave of decisions.

Whether I’m accepted or denied I will post here when I receive that envelope in the mail. Good luck to everyone.

Most colleges do tend so wait as long as possible to send out rejection letters.

I really don’t like the practice. It’s very frustrating for us transfers who have a myriad of deadlines to deal with, unlike freshman applicants who generally have May 1st as a universal deposit deadline.

I’ve only heard back from NYU of the 11 schools I applied to, and I was accepted. But I have to notify them of my decision by May 10th. I hope I hear back from more schools by then.

That is interesting. I will post my stats and decision as well. Again, my counselor said that my app has not yet been reviewed. So everybody who has not received a decision, remain patient. Many applications are still under review. Good Luck.
