Official Vanderbilt University Fall 2012 Transfer Thread

April 26th lol.

It’s gonna be a while.

App was complete March 19. Still no word. Bad sign? :(

Good luck to those receiving their decisions this week!

I hope it comes this week! Did anyone hear over weekend?

I talked to my counselour today and he said that the first wave of waitlist acceptances have been sent and a second will be coming soon!

^ will we be informed by email or letter?

letter
10char

You mean transfer waitlist? But not all acceptances have been sent first…confused…

Lol this doesn’t make any sense. Why would they send out waitlist acceptances before they send out all the decisions?

Confused…anybody else have a late application complete email?

i havent received my decision nor my application completion letter. But I emailed my counsellor and he said my app is complete…

I received my app complete email on May 1st and my counselor said I should hear back 2 weeks after the complete email. I hope to hear back this week!!!

Counselor said decision has been made, letter not yet mailed…should receive within the week. App was complete 4/20.

You guys are lucky. My counselor takes about a week to respond to an email and does not offer any new information. Lol.

Anyone get accepted & not going?

^ I declined the offer of admission today - hopefully this opens up a spot for someone on the waitlist! Best of luck to everyone who is still waiting. : )

i was waitlisted too and was wondering how vanderbilt accepts students off the waitlist. Jacob^ said that the first wave of acceptances have been sent out so did you guys submit your final transcripts or is it just random? My school doesnt have all the grades in the system so i cant send my transcript in yet

or do they randomly review applications?

do they have to see our final spring grades before making a decision on waitlisted applicants? I am on the quarter system and my finals aren’t until the first week of June.

Haven’t heard anything from the admission office. But I received my financial aid award today. Does this mean anything? I REALLY need to know where I stand soon cause I have other schools waiting to hear from me…

Never mind. Talked to my counselor yesterday. He said my letter must have gotten lost in the mail. I’ve been accepted. :D

First, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted on here during this entire time. I really didn’t have much to say, so I abstained. But you all really made me feel like there were others who were understanding my struggles. The solidarity I silently shared with you all was very helpful and I appreciate it very much.

OK, here are my stats for those still waiting and those looking to transfer next year.

HS GPA- 4.67 gpa (weighted)
I was homeschooled, so class rank and stuff really didn’t play a role.
SAT:
CR- 780
M- 700
W- 700
HS EC’s- Part time work (I worked on a strawberry farm for years, I wrote my extracurricular CA essay on this experience), Debate Club, Music (Have been playing the piano for 10 years now) and generic volunteer work. Blah. :/

College: I attend a really tiny liberal arts college in upstate SC. Not even on the national radar in any shape or form. Goes to show you that no one should be discouraged from applying; you never know what might happen!
I’m a history major btw.
College GPA- 4.0
EC’s- Student Government Association (Class Senator, Class President, Chaired a couple of committees), Piano Ensemble, 3 Choirs.
My recommendations were solid. My essays were pretty good (though I wrote them in one sitting and didn’t proofread :open_mouth: ).

Now I have to choose between Vanderbilt and the University of Pennsylvania. I’m leaning toward Penn, so another spot on the waitlist might open up here soon.

Congrats and good luck to you all!
