Official Vanderbilt University Fall 2012 Transfer Thread

Just because your app is complete, doesn’t mean it’s gauranteed to be looked at already.

For example, was it Matis who said his counselor hadn’t looked at his app yet?

Also, I would like to stress that the people posting on this thread represent a small fraction (~1%) of the people who applied altogether. Is that significant anyways? No. Not trying to be mean, but I’m trying to help calm the paranoia a little by reasoning this out.

@Kvasek

The “application complete” email is the only email from Vandy I have received since I applied.

I don’t understand what a counselor has to do with anything. Why would a counselor need to look at an application? I don’t even have a counselor.

@dq-- You should. Applicants are separated into regions. There’s regional admissions counselors. Look at the site.

^oh okay thank you. excuse my ignorance.

I just called today and they told me my application was complete. Prior to that I had received the missing information email, so I faxed them my college transcript. Thus, I never got that “acceptance” email either. Will I receive a second email saying its complete, or will they just assume I know? Also, do they take a while to start looking at the application after it is complete?

Weird. I ve never received any email from vandy thats about complete application nor that “acceptence email”, but nonetheless my app is complete as I checked with my cousellor

Just jumping in here…have gotten different information regarding Mid-term report. Did everyone send?

Yep! I sent mine in.

I didn’t send my Mid-term report. When I applied my Mid-term grades weren’t even out. It says you don’t need it on the website though.

When I talked to admissions, they said Mid-term report IS required. It says so on their website on this page : http://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/quickguide/.

The Mid-Term report is NOT required. However, I did send in mine since it was a 4.0, and they said if you feel like it will help your application, you could send it in.

I don’t think it’s required because they said my application is complete. I wish I sent it though because it could have helped as I’m doing better this semester, but I didn’t even really have any midterm grades.

@npat89

you should send it anyways because they probably just started reviewing.
and even if they started reviewing it doesn’t hurt for you to send it in!

soooo does anyone know when vandy usually starts releasing transfer decisions??

@haeji93
Hmm that is true, I’ll talk to my teachers and see what they can do.

They said they will start mailing out transfer decisions starting mid april, so I’m sure the first batch will be mailed in a few days.

Yay finally got the email saying my app is complete and ready to review.

@npat89
I thought they will start mailing out transfer decisions around mid april, but I emailed my counselor about my application status, and she said, “We will not start releasing admissions decisions until the end of the month at the earliest, however, it’s possible you won’t hear from us until a later date as well depending on when your application goes through for review.” So I am assuming that we are still gonna wait for at least 3 more weeks.

@BMaserati

Really? That is quite disappointing. I was hoping to find out sometime in early May. My friend who goes there right now said they take forever for mailing out decisions and stuff. But I suppose that’s a plus because I won’t find out from my other schools until like late may-july. So it gives me more time to make a decision if I need to.

I thought they release them on rolling basis though, which would mean some of us will still hear before the end of April.
