I guess it depends on which school you attend. My current school has both options available, and I think my high school does too. I feel more comfortable sending hard copies though…

That’s so cool. Now I feel like my school is super far behind…mainly b/c it is.

Where else is everyone applying?

I might still apply to Vandy but I’m looking at state schools.

I think you should still apply. Due to the application fees, I considered narrowing my list of schools from 5 to 4, but then I realized how much it would bug me to not know whether or not that 5th school would have accepted me.

aonon, I have a few on my list and I’m adding and subtracting constantly. Tufts, VA, Cornell, Bowdoin…all maybes/probablys? UChicago? What about you? I probably will throw a couple more in toward the deadline.

i am applying to UNC and Richmond as well

^^^ The fees are annoying + IDK if I can even get into Vandy. Also, if I KNOW my parents won’t pay, it’s kind of pointless…

Beachlover, did you end up filling out the FAFSA/CSS profile for Vandy?

I’m also applying to UNC Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Elon, Emory and Tulane.

That’s a lot of application fees!

No, I did not fill out any FA stuff. My parents haven’t filed their taxes.

Vandy is my top choice, especially because it isn’t far from home… I think my application is pretty solid BUT I’ve only ever taken the ACT, not the ACT+Writing. Do you think this little thing is enough to knock me out of the running? I’m freaking out. I mean, I’m a transfer, standardized testing shouldn’t matter as much, right? /:

I’m making myself finish and submit my application by this weekend…that way I can stop worrying!

PS: it seems strange to think this thread has 13,000+ views…

I noticed that too. 13,000 seems like quite a bit…

Are any Kentuckians applying?

Cricket cricket…

It’s getting down to the wire guys! Good luck to everyone!

I submitted a couple days ago and got confirmation today that all materials are due in by 3/15 so plenty of time yet to polish those essays. You back on board in applying beachlover?

I don’t know. If I know I’m not going, I don’t want to waste my money, time, etc.

I’m looking to apply, I have everything ready to go I’m just second guessing myself.
My GPA is a 3.0 (after 1 semester of college), but I know this semester will raise my GPA, but they won’t see these grades until I believe its too late. People are saying to submit the midterm grade form, but those grades don’t exactly reflect what COULD happen, so i feel they don’t take that form very seriously.

What do you think I should do?

Im applying to Peabody for Secondary Ed.
3.0 GPA (1 semester)
Treasurer of History Club
Treasurer of Curling Club

my high school grades etc. are average, 3.3 gpa, 1600 sat.
no ec’s in high school.

I’m debating weather to apply because I feel getting rejected would hurt my chances if I was to reapply another time…

Thoughts?
Please help! Im running out of time!

Greenbem – In all honesty, I would probably wait until next year. The only reason I say this is so you will have ample time to boost your GPA, as well as involvement in extracurriculars and volunteering opportunities. I hear the transfer pool gets more competitive each year. Applying for your sophomore year, I think your high school and college work will be looked at pretty equally, since you’ve only got one semester of college down. But, just to be on the safe side I would wait to make sure your college GPA/activities are in tip top shape. Of course, the level of coursework and your current institution could play a role in how they evaluate your application. But if you’ve got a dire need/curiosity to see what happens if you were to apply this year, go for it!
