Official Vanderbilt University Fall 2013 Transfer Thread

Ugh, I feel like I’m just over it by this point in time. The wait is death.

My heart leapt this morning when I found a Priority Mail cardboard box sitting on my front porch. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a package for my sister…

From the Vandy Admissions Blog (from last year):

“Transfer decisions are now being mailed on a rolling basis and will continue throughout the next several months until the transfer class is full. We will send you an email acknowledgment once your transfer application is complete, after which you will likely receive a decision by mail within 3-4 weeks.”

Blog also states that decisions are mailed out mid-April, so I think that the comment above might only apply to those who received their App Complete email after mid-April. I got my App Complete email on March 13 and 4 weeks from then would be April 10, which wouldn’t really make sense since Vandy doesn’t mail decisions out until April 15 or so.

Also I don’t know if this has been discussed already, but…
“Thanks for your question. We actually intend to enroll approximately 210 new transfer students this fall, which is slightly more than in the past two years.”

The past two years, 198 and 195 transfers enrolled, so this isn’t a huge increase, but hopefully it’ll somewhat offset the increase in applicants, which seems to be growing very fast

The fact that the transfer acceptance rate dropped from 32% in 2011-2012 to 26% isn’t exactly thrilling. And it is even larger of a drop for males.

Yep, it’s a pretty competitive process, and I think all we can at this point is torture ourselves with the questions and the painstakingly long wait that lies ahead, which will drag on and on and on…

Haha that sounded so depressive; unfortunately, that’s what it feels like to me.

2 questions: Are most of you all going to be entering as sophomore or juniors? And are you coming from CCs or 4-years?

Good luck and don’t get too stressed out! Y’alls stats look great from reading over the thread and I hope to see everyone at Vandy!!!

Entering as a sophomore coming from a 4 year

I would be entering as a sophomore from a CC.

I would be entering as a junior (though a few of my classes likely would not transfer over) from a four year university.

I would be a junior, but I don’t think all of my credits would transfer. I’m coming from a close to “similar” four-year university (UGA).

Soph from 4-year

Entering as a sophomore coming from a 4 year

will they start sending out decisions next week?

When you get your decision, will you hurry to post it on here?

I’m actually really excited about possibly attending Vanderbilt. I just think the size of the school is perfect and really allows you to build solid relationships with professors.

I am not sure, but based on past years I have a feeling that they will start mailing out decisions the week following next week. Do not quote me, though.

I am most likely going to post my decision as soon as possible after I receive it. I only hope it is good news, though; it would be painful to post bad news after having been using this forum for so long.

I’ll post it, good or bad, or waitlist, which would be worse.

I’ll post whatever decision I get, although I really hope it’s an acceptance.

Hopefully people start receiving decisions next week, since Vandy sent out freshman decisions a week early, rather than a week from next week.

I’ll post whatever I get too, but I have a bad feeling that it’s going to be bad news. We’ll all do whatever we have to do!

Amen posting either way …Newtocollege- THE WAIT-LIST WOULD KILL ME !!!
