So no one on the west coast got a decision either way today?

I go to school in MN and haven’t heard yet… I feel like if mine was mailed on Friday, I should get it tomorrow

So it looks like 4 people (Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan) from the Midwest have not received a decision either way yet.

What happened to everyone who used the USPS tracker and said if it was mailed friday it would come today :(

just because you didn’t get anything today doesn’t mean you’re doomed… it will prolly come tomorrow if it was sent Friday and you didn’t get it today.

I guess the USPS expected date just means expected, rather than guaranteed. I wonder why East Coast folks all seem to have heard today, while not everyone in TX, NC or some of the closer midwest states has heard?

I’m in Boston, but I didn’t hear. Maybe it takes my school a day to process and distribute the mail.

Congrats to everyone who received acceptances today!

About mail dates and expected arrivals…

I work in the Registrar’s office at a community/junior college. (Remember, I’m a mom of student.) Admittedly, we’re probably only a third the size of Vanderbilt, but sometimes when have huge mailings going out (Diplomas, grad letters, etc.), they go out of our office one day, but they may or may not make it out of the mailroom that day. Just a thought.

Also, when my son’s transcripts were mailed (no, I didn’t mail them… lol), I paid attention to how long they took to the different schools. And honestly, there was no rhyme nor reason. Some got there in two days, some took longer than a week. Of course, internal processing time matters, but usually the date put into the student information system is the actual date received (not the date entered).

My point is, don’t put too much emphasis on how long the mail takes. I know it’s hard, but just be positive and wait it out.

The USPS tracker says people should receive priority mail Monday or Tuesday IF they were mailed by 2:30 pm east coast time

I’m thinking if someone doesn’t hear tomorrow, then they’re most likely going out in the second wave of decisions on friday.

Hi, I have been looking this thread for about a week, and I got my acceptance letter today. I live in South California. Just a reference for whom are interested. Good luck everyone!!

I am in orange county, CA, and I haven’t received my letter.

Okay I just talked to a friend that works as a student assistant in the admissions office. If you sent in your midterm report even though you met the priority deadline, you might not have made the first wave. A new piece of information that gets added to a profile is reviewed again. Thus the admission office states "send in a midterm report if you think it will strengthen your chances i.e upward grade trend. Although I got my app complete confirmation on February, I sent a midterm report about mid/late march. Just letting people know who sent a mid term report those take time to review.

what if you sent in the midterm report before march 15th?

@crazy7ray,
Thanks sooooo much for sharing the info!!! I feel much calm now and I will focus on my HW today~(kept distracted by Vandy thread)

Mine didn’t come. I’m in PA.

Someone on a previous page mentioned that Vanderbilt is need-aware for transfers… Is that true?! I didn’t see it anywhere on their website, but maybe I missed it…

if need-aware means presented financial need is factored in to the decision, then that is absolutely false.

From Vandy website:

Through Opportunity Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students (including transfer students) and the admissions process is need-blind for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens. (Read more about the three important commitments we make to admitted students through Opportunity Vanderbilt.) Vanderbilt does reserve the right to be need-aware from the wait list, and merit-based financial aid is not available to transfer applicants.

Accepted! Currently at college in PA, but letter came to my house in NY.
