Oh and thanks for the reply @yolocholo

@newleaf - You should get your aid package within a week of receiving your acceptance! :)

@vandygirl23
Thanks a lot! I’ll probably post an update when I get it! Hopefully it’ll be good :/

@Newleaf-

My son hasn’t heard anything regarding his acceptance yet, but as a mom, I suggest you just go ahead and email financial aid. It can’t hurt. You’re already in. And even though it probably will come within a week, email them just to ease your mind!

Best of luck.

@newtocollege, i emailed my admissions counselor like two days ago and he told me that they will be reviewing my application the coming two weeks and there’s still space in the transfer class so not to worry about it being late.

All i can do for now is pretend i believe him, lol its easier than stressing about it.

Ok, thank you @Collensgirl for that piece of advice
And best of luck to your son!

Afrogenius, I’ll play under that illusion with you. Good luck to you!

just got my financial aid package, and they were so wonderful! they are covering EVERYTHING. Im from a single parent family with a very small income, and the only thing Im gonna have to pay is what I do for work study…they cover books the whole nine yards…this may change me back to wanting to go…

Anyone have the inside scoop on where transfer students will be housed?

@Commadore10, There’s a lot of info about housing on the Facebook page. The group is called “Vanderbilt Fall 2013 Transfer” if you want to join and check it out :)

Once again, Vanderbilt gets a bad reputation for letting so many transfers in. The acceptance rate must still be at 25%.

I almost thought about being a ConnectDore (a guide for transfer students) but I decided against doing so. All you incoming transfer students will join a group with 3 or 4 other transfers of similar majors and one ConnectDore, who will show you around campus, eat dinner with you, and invite you to Vanderbilt parties for one week. Then, you are on your own. Enjoy the awkward first week at Vanderbilt.

Still haven’t heard anything from Illinois -_-.

Sigh…

What happens to those of us still waiting to hear a response? When will we have to respond by? Will we only have 5 days to respond T_T? I just want to hear my decision already!

^^Sometransfer, why is a 25% acceptance rate a bad thing? It seems as though the accepted students who have given stats on here are well-qualified, interesting, engaged with a positive story to tell. It seems like there are certain schools who enjoy their transfer program and consider it an essential, or at least interesting, part of their university. I think private schools are in the minority in having an established transfer deal, and that makes Vandy attractive. Kind of like colleges that have a “Feb” or winter acceptance program for incoming freshman (Midd, USC) I think Vandy admissions has an interesting way to diversify its student body through transfers. And, as a transfer student who made a bad, bad first college choice, but who is a smart guy, I’m happy to even have a reasonable shot at Vandy and other schools that are transfer-friendly. I’ve already found that schools accepting transfers aren’t necessarily supportive of transfers once they’re admitted, but Vandy at least has an orientation. It’s going to be awkward anywhere, but at least Vandy facilitates transfers meeting each other, rather than letting them hang out there in the wind.

@vandygirl Thanks!

Hey this thread has really been helpful to me over the whole application process. I received my acceptance earlier this week and I will be accepting! My Stats:

HS gpa: 3.86
Colleg gpa: 3.87
SAT: 1240
ACT: 29

@hopefuldore
If you don’t mind me asking, how is your financial aid award? I’m still waiting for mine and I’m really anxious!

@newleaf
It was very generous. They covered all of the demonstrated need

@hopefuldore
Thank you for your reply! Now I will patiently (because I have no other choice) wait for my financial award to arrive :/

I highly doubt the admit rate is 25% this year, it’s probably going to be 21-22%.

@lelouch what do you base that on?
