This thread seems to be more stagnant than I would have assumed…maybe that means less people are applying…that’d increase our likelihood/chances of getting in, right? Lol

I sure hope so! Last year’s thread was way busier than this one.

Hi everyone. I too will be applying to Vanderbilt as a transfer student.

Stats dude.

I love when new people post. Although it scares me a bit because it means there are more coming :O

You’re right. I didn’t even think about that.

Sorry, I probably should have included my stats in my first post.

High School
GPA: 4.00 unweighted, 4.15 weighted
ACT: 28
ECs: Foreign Language Club (3 years), Bass Fishing Club (3 years), Student Council (1 year), Community Service For Everyone (1 year)

College
GPA: 4.00 (currently a sophomore)
ECs: Students For Education Reform, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society

Best of luck to everyone

Hey everyone, I have a question about the common application. I know this technically isn’t the right forum for this, but would it be all right with all of you if I posted my question here?

Go right ahead.

Thanks!
On the top of the ‘Education’ page, it asks me to list my current college/university and all the information that goes along with it. I did all that with no problem. Then on the bottom of the page it says, “If you have taken a college/university course since 9th grade, check this box.” Am I supposed to check that box and re-enter the same information that I put for my current college/university, or is that box only for courses that were taken at a different college/university? Sorry if my question is unclear…

I think it’s work done at a different school. I never did understand that.

Ok thank you for your quick reply. I was kind of thinking that too but I wasn’t sure.

No problem. If you’re still unsure, I’d ask the CommonApp people directly.

Right, I should probably do that just to be on the safe side.

My essay…ugh. Anyone else having an issue with it?

I will most likely be applying as well. 31 units last year 3.8 gpa with honors classes. This semester 16 units with a 3.4 for this semester. School tv staff, school blogger, put on events for residents of my dorm and compete in two ncaa d1 sports. Hopefully good letters of recommendation and good essays.

You’re an athlete? Jealous.

I’m getting nervous that I’m not good enough to get in. I’m riding on the hope that because they have a higher acceptance rate for those applying for transfer admission (and compared to other institutions like it, it’s higher) I will get in…but I keep thinking about the other just as (and more) talented and gifted students applying, and then I get discouraged. Even if I get waitlisted, I’d be okay (as long as others would withdraw their acceptance and decide to get off the waitlist) so I could get in that way. Ugh, stress city. We’ll see. Fingers crossed. PLEASEEEE!!

Trust me, you are not the only one who is nervous/anxious. Your best bet is to just relax and not let it worry you too much (easier said than done, I know).

Besides, April/May is a LONG time from now, so try not to think about it at all.
