When does everyone plan on submitting their Common Apps and Vanderbilt transfer supplements?

By the end of Jan.

I sent in the Supplement at the end of Sept. I guess I’ll send in the rest of the CA by Jan.

didn’t realize we can send in the supplement before the common?

I did. The supplement isn’t much.

I applied to Vandy

Stats please! We like to know what we’re competing against.

My stats aren’t great but I thought I’ll give it a shot.
High school Gpa: 3.5
College Gpa for 19 credit hours: 4.0 at community college
EC : National youth forum on medicine, voluteered at ecudaor for the kichwia community, science club president, art club vice president, volunteered at the red cross, Beaumont hospital volunteer
act: 21

Those aren’t bad at all!

Thanks. I really wish I get in, Vandy is my first choice. Also, has anyone actually visited Vandy?

Reading over last years thread…over and over. I’m getting more anxious as the days go by… Vandy is my top choice and I’d be crushed if I were rejected.

Also, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone :)

Don’t worry, keep your hopes up! You will get in :).

The more I look through this thread, the less confident I get :(

[Insert Jeopardy tune here]

I am applying got a 3.6 first semester and will probably about a 3.8 second semester at a 4 year public when i submit the midterm reports got an 1810 on the SAT including a 700 on reading, 780 U.S History and 800 on World History for my SAT II but i am concerned about my high school record barely got a 3.0 in the two years of high school but i did take 11 AP/IB in those two years at the 75th best high school in the country .Also have some E.C including working at the Democratic National Convention, and as a interning for Governor of MA also a URM … anyone ready to apply ? You think i will get in?

Hey guys, I’m also a UCSB student, current sophomore, seems like you guys realized you were not content earlier than I, which I kind of envy. Anyway could you guys please chance me?

High school GPA: 3.87 (Unweighted)
College GPA: 3.55 (With 57 units)

I’m in the college of engineering which is pretty damn hard and anything above 3.5 GPA is considered “honors,” which I mention because it seems like a relatively low GPA.

ECs: The usual high school community service, worked a Caltech, in one club at UC and co-president of a second. I’m a bit worried because all of you guys have higher college GPAs than high school ones whereas I have the reverse - I attribute this to how objectively difficult engineering classes are, I haven’t really slacked off. Anyway, what do you guys think?

I think you all sound wonderful. Reviewing the threads from the past two years, I’d say most acceptances have been all across the board. Low high school GPA, high college GPA. Decent high school GPA, Decent college. High high school GPA, high college GPA…etc. Granted, some of these stats that were posted were very minimal so EC’s/Volunteering/Leadership/Research may vary from all of the applicants that posted. I think the best bet for all of us is how we convey ourselves through our essay [which I am currently stuck on! - Help!]

@anontransfer
Are you stuck on a particular area of the essay, or is it simply the whole essay in general?

The whole thing. Basically, I sat down and just wrote very raw material. The order goes somewhat like this: potential/poor HS performance/dislikes about my current school/how Vanderbilt is much better and more challenging/other fluff

I basically am having a hard time making this all sound graceful [I don’t want to out right bash my school…] and intellectual… I’m freaking myself out trying to make this perfect that I just blank on where to begin.
