@jfcampos, ha. I’ll keep that in mind :P

I got into the University of Miami (UM) @TransferGirlSoph

Even though I’m probably gonna need an extension, I can’t way for the decisions to come out. My stomach is killing me! nervous breakdown

fyi, if you guys need an extension from vandy, they’ll give you more time, but they won’t guarantee they’ll hold your spot

Do they give you the financial aid package with the decision? @Juvenis

@Juvenis so anytime after your two weeks, and you could actually lose your spot?

@Juvenis wait, seriously?

I just spent over an hour reading the transfer thread from last year… They weren’t getting their decisions until beginning of May, and some people said they got accepted at the the very end of May/beginning of June. Someone said the admissions counselor told them that the rounds of decisions are indeed divided into tiers. Since Vanderbilt gives such a short window to accept or decline the acceptance, maybe they have those spots roll over to the next rounds.
If it really is divided into tiers and how qualified you are, then I’m sure I will be one of the last to know my decision. There is so much stuff going on with my school work right now and these past couple weeks I’m just trying so hard not fall behind in my classes- I can’t focus on anything because I keep thinking about college admission decisions!!!

@Yazzerrr, what do you mean they divide them into tiers? Because I definitely remember reading from a man who worked in the admissions office on that page that they didn’t divide into tiers. That they took certain applications and it just so happened that the sheer randomness always allowed for the applications to be judged fairly, and not in a way that compared them to a set of all-star applicants. If that makes sense.

I, too, have spent many a night reading last year’s thread. I always feel hope for a split second, and then feel utter despair and like a failure. Lol

@CaptTShannan . I’m not 100% what they meant by tier, but I read it on pg 76 of last year’s thread.
Here-

@Yazzerrr, okay. I think I see what they meant. AHHHH. If I don’t get my decision this weekend, I am go to be very sad.

A post from the Vandy Admissions blog explains how they go about admissions, and I’m guessing the people who heard last week were the most qualified and were the ones who, therefore, did not need to be reviewed IN committee (and were signed off by two counselors instead of the four that review in committee). In that case, being divided in tiers makes some sense…

Just wanted to say I emailed one of the admissions persons and she said that the decisions should be out by May, not mid april…

This is frustrating.

@LACNoMore, didn’t that article also say that in that process, they also reject the least qualified? So some of the people who got their decisions might have gotten rejected, too.

@transfer1235234 admissions have already started coming out.

Also, what are your stats?

As much as I’d like to find out this Saturday, I almost want to find out a tad bit later so that I can compare FinAid packages with the only other school I’m seriously considering.

Have there been any rejections yet?

@LACNoMore Im not sure. There was another who was commenting on here right up until he got his decision and now he’s not. I’m assuming there have been some.

@LACNoMore, what other school are you considering?

I’m not really sure why I insist on checking MyAppVU every six hours or so.

@galapin26 yes, it’s included in your decision
@CaptTShannan pretty much, but my counselor said you’re not in any real danger of losing your spot until like May 5. But I really don’t want to take my chances.

@Celtic02 Yeah. I got a phone message from my regional counselor telling me so.

@Juvenis Have you heard anything else about your financial aid? And are you accepting your admission?
