Official Vanderbilt University Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@CaptTShannan I have estimated cost, but my financial aid is unavailable so maybe I just didn’t qualify.

@TheMagicHour‌, yeah. I didn’t even think about that. If you take your like 62.000 and subtract your estimated cost, that was your financial aid.

How much is the deposit?

@transfergirl818‌ the matriculation fee is $400.

@letters95 – What does that even mean?

My admissions counselor said, “We fill our transfer class on a rolling basis. So once your deadline passes, you do run the risk of the class filling before you decide to deposit. Typically the class fills sometime in late May, but I can’t guarantee that it will be that way this year, as things can vary from year to year. So you can continue to pay up until the point that the class closes, but anything past your deadline means I can’t guarantee you a spot in the class.”

@letters95‌ that sucks! Especially since some decisions don’t even come out for awhile. What are you going to do?

@CaptTShannan‌ Louisiana Tech and Kansas State. I am happy about it but they are far from home for me.

fingers crossed for tomorrow!

I think that the bulk of the decisions will come out on the 28th.

@transfer1235234‌ why do you say that?

Admissions counselor

@transfer1235234‌, I really don’t think they would come out the 28th. Considering that they normally release decisions on a weekend, it seems odd that they would release them on a Monday. Also, the majority of the students who applied to Vandy applied by the original priority deadline, and they’ve already expressed that the priority deadline extension would NOT effect decision time for the ones who have already submitted a month ago. I am hoping/guessing they will come out this weekend.

We’ll just have to wait and see, I was told I can expect my decision within a few day period of then.

@transfer1235234‌, I guess so.

@transfer1235234 when did you submit your application? That might be specific to your situation, since I myself and others on the forum had heard that it might be sooner from our admissions counselors.

Hey guys, I haven’t posted yet, but I got in on April 5th to CAS for Economics.

Stats:
HS GPA: 4.1 on a 4.5 weighted scale, so around a 92 or 93 average
Current GPA: 3.52, but should be coming up with this semester’s grades
Current school: Freshman at top 10 business school/part of the big 10
Good ECs through high school and college
my most notable EC was doing science research in high school, and I have some work experience in corporate

My stats may seem a little unimpressive, but I think I got in because I showed a lot of interest last year (even appealed my decision when I was rejected.) Just wanted to wish you all luck, and hope to see you all there next year.

@fall2014transfer Congratulations! You have some really good stats!

Thanks. I forgot to include my SAT/ACT scores in my stats, my single sitting scores are 2190 and 34 respectively.

@fall2014transfer‌ what kind of extra curriculars are you involved with? Honestly, I feel like that’s my weakest part beside my ACT score.
