Official Vanderbilt University Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@marianna0725 I submitted my app on 3/15 exactly.

Friday, 4/25/2014 has been accepted by Vandy into Mechanical Engineering. Reference stats: High School GPA: 4.0 top 2% and graduated in IB-Program with diploma. College GPA Tulane Univ: 3.75 Junior 3+2 Physics and Engineering Programs. He will spend two years at Vandy to get his second degree. For those of you still waiting, don’t give up hope. Be blessed to y’all.

Hey guys I just read this whole thread from top to bottom. Lots of impressive students on here!

I am a junior college baseball player who chose college baseball over academics out of high school and I’m looking to transfer to Vanderbilt as a student only in the fall. I submitted an application on march 15 and haven’t heard anything. I have two questions regarding my application:

1) Does anyone else currently go to a junior college and if so have you heard back?

2) It seems that most of y’all have received some sort of an answer. I’m starting to wonder if something went wrong with my application like CaptTShannan. Has anyone else still not heard an answer?

@wally2196 Don’t worry, I haven’t heard back yet either and I submitted my application on March 15. I wouldn’t worry about it if everything on myappvu is checked off and you havent received an email notifying that you that you have missing parts in your application. Admissions is rolling so it’s possible that they’re not finished reviewing our applications yet. I’ve heard that they release decisions until mid-May (probably even later this year, as they extended the priority deadline by a month) I don’t think that we haven’t heard back yet means we got rejected, as people on this thread have already been accepted, waitlisted, and rejected.

Hey guys. Well, I sent in my application yesterday. VERY LATE I know. I initially was not going to apply to Vandy as a transfer but I must say, I have fallen in love with the school. On Wednesday the 23rd I called admissions to see if it was too late to send in an application, and they said no, since apps were reviewed on a rolling basis. The only caveat is that there may not be any transfer positions left. I just hope I get in though!

This is a pretty silly question likely, but GPA does not transfer regardless of where we come from? (Go to an Ivy right now, but transferring for sure)

^ Nope. Your GPA begins again “officially” when you start at Vandy.

Fingers crossed to finding out this Friday! My counselor originally told me I’d find out early May, so here’s to hoping she meant this Friday!

I got my financial aid stuff figured out today and it’s right around what my EFC was calculated to be! I got my matriculation fee paid and I can’t wait to see many of you next fall!

Any ideas as to when they’ll start looking at applicants on the waitlist?

Does anyone know if we send AP scores and course syllabi/descriptions during the application process or after we are admitted.

@rdlp123 You are supposed to submit AP scores and course syllabi after you have been admitted and have paid your matriculation deposit ($400).

@jfcampos‌ I would assume they would look at all applicants first and then relook at those on the waitlist, many of us still have not heard back

Didn’t post for a long time cuz I’ve been doing some thinking. Paid my deposit to Vandy

@HopefulScholar64 You’re probably right! Haha sorry…I’m just anxious. And @Juvenis congratulations!

Hey guys, just wanted to encourage everyone to keep pushing forward! I’ve been accepted in schools that are very competitive by the grace of God (UNC & Emory). I’m currently waiting on Vandy. I have a 3.6 and I’m applying as a sophomore transfer. My high school grades were also mediocre.

Best of luck to all that are waiting and still trying to decide!

MY APPLICATION PORTAL WAS UPDATED YESTERDAY. Hopefully this means I’ll find out tomorrow…

Hey good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Does anyone know what time decisions are usually released on Fridays?

@Vandyman1 I got my decision at about 5 p.m. here which would be Noon eastern time
