@Pizzo54 Peabody

Oh okay. I applied to engineering school. Any idea of when we hear back from the wait list?

No clue… But it says that the transfer class will be filled by mid-July

I got accepted as a transfer! Who else made it it?

@CaptTShannan and @Lyle76
Congratulations both on getting accepted! I also was accepted. I called the financial aid office yesterday and they told me that the iDOC request will be sent by email in the next couple of days. If you guys applied to other schools than you probably have your iDOC ready Vandy will just send you a request to access it. Don’t worry guys! And, hope to see you in Nashville in August :)

@doctorgk I received mine late last night. And, yes. I hope to see you guys in a few months! If you are going and you join the facebook group Vanderbilt Fall Transfer 2014, look me up and add me. I’m Thomas Shannan. :)

Have any of you guys who submitted your deposit received any information about housing, or transfering credits?
I submitted mine yesterday and am wondering when I should expect to receive that information.

Does anyone know when we can register for classes? I really hope we don’t get the short end of the stick.

@Juvenis I believe it’s July 23rd. It tells you if you log onto YES

I am so nervous! I submitted my app in after April 15 so I hope there is still hope for me. Congrats with all the acceptances!

@rdlp123 I applied March 15th and still have not heard back, they probably have not gotten to your application yet. I was told that my advisor was out of town a lot so that may be why my decision is a little later than others

Does anybody know if we can submit our 2nd Semester grades to increase our GPA? I raised mine from a 3.57 to a 3.79. I also started shadowing and added more volunteer programs to my resume, should I send this out or just wait?

Go to your GC, bring her a flower, and ask her to FAX it to the admissions office, with a cover notation that HopefulScholar64 dearly wants to be accepted into Vanderbilt as a transfer student. You make a copy and attach it to a nice, cogent, well drafted one paragraph email update re your activities and new shadowing…be specific re location, number hours a week, and purpose/duties. Always end with your readiness to come to Vanderbilt if given the opportunity. good luck

@CaptTShannan How many days after you paid your deposit did you get you vandy email and such? I paid mine on Monday and I’m like obsessivly checking my email waiting lol

I got it on the Friday @Celtic02

Just paid my deposit! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

and hi! I’m Lyle Li from NY

@Faline2 I go to the University of South Florida as it has over 30K students it is very rigid in how they do things no exceptions for anyone. If I want my transcripts sent out, I have to wait a week after grades are posted (Monday the 12th) and pay the cashier’s office a check of $10 and then go to the registrar’s office and submit the receipt. The registrar then mails the transcripts 2 days from that date and it takes around 4 days for the transcripts to arrive and be processed, no way to send them by fax, email or any method other than USPS. So I will probably just send the activities update without the transcripts or attach a page with an unofficial report of my grades. Thanks

sounds sensible, HopefulScholar. I would “share” your improved GPA just as you plan, and state you will follow through with official transcript when grades are “formal transcript” ready.
best wishes!

@CapTShannan
That’s great! I got into Yale as well which is making my decision quite tough. :S
@HopefulScholar64
I think your best bet is to email your counselor.

ACCEPTED! w/ pretty good FA! Seeeeeems I might be coming to Vandy!

Waitlisted… guess I should have cracked down more in high school. SAT was okay for a transfer (2110 Super score) but bleh. Although I though they were okay, I never had anyone look at my essays, either, so maybe that’s part of it. xD

IDK, I should be finishing CC with a 4.0, have been taking a larger role in my campus organization, and have won another minor award, but it’s nothing spectacular. But I had few major prereqs completed. Is there anyway I can tell if I stand a chance, or if it’s just a “we like you but we can’t have you here” sort of thing.

I might them another email.
