Has ANYONE got rejected?? Or are they going to reject at the end???I submitted my application around 3-15 or 3-17 and I still dont see anything.

Rejected from the College of Engineering today

First of all, congratulations to everyone accepted thus far, and to those rejected, remember that one school does not define you or your worth.

For those whose counselors are out of town, has anyone heard back? I submitted my app 3/15 with confirmation on 3/18 and still haven’t heard back. The issue with calling is I’m put through to a student, who usually doesn’t have the authority to expedite my decision. I have a deposit due before next Friday at another school if I choose to attend it; does anyone else have this problem? At this point, I’m a little frustrated with not hearing. I may just put down my deposit at Penn and give up on Vandy out of sheer frustration. Thanks! And good luck to everyone else still waiting!

I think you should give it another week. I submitted my app on 3/15 and finally received my decision today. There were people who also sent it in on 3/15 and were notified with a decision last week, so I guess it all depends on your GC and when they get to your application.

Waitlisted to the School of Engineering… Mixed feelings about it really, but hoping to get in of course! I’d like to say I’m one step closer!

Hi Everyone,

First, congratulations to everyone accpeted. I am pleased to announce that I will be joining all of you next fall as I too was accepted as a history major! I have some questions regarding Vanderbilt and was wondering if there was anyone here who has the same questions or answers.

How hard are the classes at Vanderbilt? I come from a small, decent, liberal arts school in the Midwest and the thing I am most nervous about is how difficult the classes will be in Nashville.

My school is small and does not have a frat. To me, there is something about fraternities that makes me not want to join and I know Vandy is a big frat school. My question is, is there any fun to be had at Vanderbilt without being in a frat?

Thanks in advance and good luck to all of those still waiting! If you did not make it don’t give up!

The classes are hard at Vandy, and you will find big weed-out classes in your major that are intended to weed people out. You can read all over the Vandy page that there is grade deflation here, so you have to work hard for your grades. The worst thing for a transfer is finding classes with decent profs first semester. Look at rate my professor and take the comments seriously. Vandy is a frat school and a part of the school’s social life revolves around that. But more than half of the students aren’t in frats, so you can find friends. You have to be outgoing, join clubs and reach out. Unfortunately, that’s the hardest thing here, because the first year experience is so strong, people have their friend groups already and you have to break into that. Make friends with transfers. There is a subtle prejudice against transfers, that they couldn’t have gotten in originally. That may be true, but once you’re here, if you are good at school, and had a 2000 or better on the SAT, you can succeed here. It’s like starting as a frosh, and sometimes it sucks. Great school, bad social life is the story I hear from transfers all the time.

I’m interested when waitlist starts finding out

For those of you who have been accepted, when is the deadline for your reply?

Hey all, I had posted earlier that my admission materials cleared around March 9, and I still hadn’t heard back. I contacted my counselor, and I thought her reply (I copied most of the email) could be useful to any of you out there still waiting: “You are correct that your application was received before the original deadline, and it has been in the evaluation process for several weeks. Sometimes during a rolling admissions process, we hold on to a group of applications because we want to wait and see what the rest of the applicant pool looks like before making a decision, and it looks like that is what has happened with your application. That being said, I am told that we hope to get all of the remaining transfer decisions out by the end of this week.” Hope this helps any of you anxiously awaiting a decision!

Did applying after the priority deadline affect our admission chances? I understand that it delayed it, but did it decrease our chances of acceptance?

@bballprofessor23 I wouldn’t say it would decrease the chances. I think as long as you are still the pool, it is a good thing. It means they are still interested. good luck!

I agree with @TransferGirlSoph, I just want to know when wait list will hear back. Also does anyone know what happens if you don’t get accepted on the waitlist? Do they tell you that or do you just never hear back?

I assume that means that waitlist students will begin to hear back probably two weeks from this Friday. (Assuming they send out all decisions and those students accepted on Friday have two weeks to respond).

@Pizzo54 I applied as a freshman last year and I was wait listed. I received an email in July I think that informed me that the class was full (meaning that essentially I was rejected off the waitlist because no further spots were available). I assume that they use a similar process with transfer students.

I decided to commit to Boston College, so hopefully one of you gets my spot at Vandy! Best of luck to everyone :)

Does anyone know how what the transcript fee is for? It’s probably a stupid question, but I’m really just curious. Also, do we go about having our final transcripts sent just like we did with the transcript we sent in with our application?

Its safe to assume that the majority of decisions released on Friday will be rejections/waitlists, not acceptances, right?

Hi guys sorry I know this is somewhere in the thread but it’s gotten so big. Are decisions posted on My App Vu and if so are you notified when they are ready?

No decision yet…they wouldn’t make us wait for yet another week would they? Then again, I submitted my app after the priority deadline so maybe it didn’t even get reviewed :/

@bballprofessor23 I also submitted my app after the deadline, but I talked to my admissions counselor and she said my decision will probably be sent out with other decisions shortly, though she is not sure of an exact date. So maybe we will hear back some time next week?
