Official Waiting Room

It is with genuine regret that we inform you that the Admissions Committee is unable to offer you a position in the freshman class at Washington University. You will also receive this notification by mail.

We appreciate your strong interest in Washington University, and we wish you all the best in the university community you choose to join.

Waitlisted here, too.

Not really bothered… But it sure isn’t a nerve-soother. I didn’t show any interest, so I might have come off as one of those “headed elsewhere” students (i.e. Ivies, etc), but there’s also no way of knowing it wasn’t just because I wasn’t good enough. Honestly, I’m pretty confident in myself, though, so overall this decision feels neutral. Not necessarily a good sign, but not necessarily a bad sign either. It could be either.

Waitlisted. Gahhhh.

I’ve gotten 3 acceptances already but I was really hoping for Wash U.
Anyone know the acceptance rate or how many people were accepted off of waitlists last year?

Daughter Accepted!!

that’s for rejected applicants

Waitlisted here too…ugh. Seems like a lot of great stat applicants are on the waitlist.

Waitlisted too.

waitlisted here tooooo

Accepted as part of January Program! What exactly is the jan. program?

valedictorian, national merit finalist, 4.59 GPA weighted, 3.99 uw, 34 ACT, sports, community service, violin…

just guess…waitlist!

Waitlisted here too. But hey, it’s better than a rejection!!

Aren’t all the wait lists abnormal? I can sort of see the lack of “rejected”, but dozens of “wait lists” with almost no “accepts”???

@becoming: The January Program is something like spring enrollment. I’m not exactly sure though.

Waitlisted. Oh well, it’s not like I really wanted to go there anyways :)

So, who here is actually going to choose to get on the waitlist?
I am.

Let’s make a list.

I am not sure about D. her decision …

My son got accepted! I think his running helped.

I think “waitlisted” is going to be a common refrain this year. Record number of apps at numerous high quality schools… the schools know that the extremely high quality app pool they are seeing is somewhat illusory.

woah WHAT??? decisions are out? omg did not see this coming at all

aaaaaah

34 act/4.5 W/state champ for sport, etc. etc…waitlisted. ■■■

I got accepted!!! =D
