I know I’m forgetting some stuff. I know the coach really liked him, so that was a big factor, I’m sure. He had a good overnight visit with the team.

My S also got accepted. He will not attend though.

Accepted!@!@!!!@#!@$#$%@#%@#$%

And thanks for making your son apply and take up an application spot for someone who deserved it, *******.

I’m sure you didn’t just apply for one school. You just have to pick the best fit to attend.

I guess
Rahulkohli930
thinks that orkinman’s son applied ED/EA to other schools but didn’t withdraw his RD applications.

Waitlisted!

Can’t say that I’m not disappointed…

Congrats to everyone who got in!

I took a spot on the waitlist already.

There’s no need for hostility. Someone in the waitlist is going to get a nice surprise. I probably won’t attend either, but hey, maybe motion12345 will get good news when I decline.

Yup I just checked that box for waitlist too.

I wonder if this is exactly what will happen for the other super selective/top schools?

What is the point of waitlisting SO many candidates?

Accepted!
I have similar stats to a lot of the waitlisted people, and I was expecting to be waitlisted too. But I guess legacy helped!
I’m ecstatic because this is my first real acceptance - after being deferred in EA and also receiving a likely letter, it’s good to get a definite answer!

I’m sure Wash U knows the statistics so well that they have a VERY good idea of the number of students who won’t enroll. That wouldn’t change other people’s chances of acceptance.

ACCEPTED! Wasn’t expecting it after reading about how many waitlisted people there were. So happy. Congrats to all!

Please don’t take the waitlisting personally, guys. I know that it’s hard and very disappointing, but not everybody can get a slot. Applications have skyrocketed at WashU and the admissions office has a reputation for waitlisting MANY candidates. And there are indeed students who get Ivy acceptances who get waitlisted at WashU. MOST of the kids who apply at WashU are qualified to attend. Sadly, they only have so many slots.
Admissions people at the very competitive schools will tell you: We HAVE to turn down a lot of students who would do well here and be an asset to the school. But we have no choice and we know they will find a quality education at another institution and ultimately be happy.

Accepted! So so so happy! :)

Okay so I understand Wash U likes to waitlist…but waitlisting the MAJORITY of applicants? That doesn’t even make sense.

Based on this thread, these are the stats:
10 - Accepted
32 - Waitlisted
5 - Rejected

CC isn’t a perfect sampling of students…but it’s a pretty good one. I’d (almost) rather just have a rejection letter than all these waitlists.

omg only 5 rejected?? i’m sad i’m one of the only ones :(

Son got accepted. Excited beyond belief!!! International - U.S Citizen.

I’m sad that I’m one, as well. I wasn’t considering WashU was my backup or one of my top choices. It is MY NUMBER ONE. I feel so left out right now from the numbers, lol.

Don’t worry. I am with you. :(
