<p>^^ Not my point… My two passions for my entire life are pure mathematics and music. I know that I want to become either a Professor (in mathematics) or a Musician. Thing is that at the young age of 17 I’ve yet to decide on which of those two paths I want to devote my life on. The reason I want to get into UChicago is that I want that final descision to be up to me and not up to a faceless admissions comittee.</p>

<p>I know I wouldn’t be able to handle the countdown once it gets <1 hour, so I’m going out at 7pm to see a long play (I’m in PST, so the decisions come out at 8pm, perhaps). Hopefully I won’t be sitting there in the chair spazzing out, thinking about all this. Lol.</p>
<p>That’s a great distraction! I’m saving some episodes of the West Wing to use up some time later. Right now I’m whiling away the minutes hoping for an email from Oberlin.</p>

<p>Just got my acceptance to NYU . . . Definitely not up to par to Chicago, but, hell, it knows I’m going SOMEWHERE and I love NYC.</p>
<p>A huge weight lifted off my shoulders, and now it’s just taking these last few hours stride by stride.</p>

<p>Son got in EA and I had the same stress you went through. Just a warning that it took me 40 minutes to get logged in because so many people were doing the same thing. Don’t be frustrated and keep on doing it but just mentally be prepared, otherwise the delay will drive you crazy. It was a really stressful 40 minutes. Good luck to all!</p>
