I was an international student and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a financial aid package for internationals (maybe that has changed). They do offer scholarships to internationals (which definitely made it possible for me to attend)

Thank you for replying @saketm. Do you remember if you received your scholarship info in your acceptance letter or did you receive it later?

@intlstudent1234 sorry for the late response. congratulations on your acceptance!!! I did not apply for any scholarship or financial aid of any kind so I can’t tell you much. I hope you’re gonna receive the aid you need and that I’ll see you next year. Good luck!

@saketm congratulations!! I don’t mean to be rude, but what stats (gpa, sat, act etc) did you have to be able to get a scholarship. I’m just curious. See you next year!! :)

I am an international student from Shanghai
GPA: 3.8
Toefl:105/120
SATI: 1970 only prepared for three months!!!T^T the only 700+ section is my maths, 730, but most of my classmates got 800…
SATII: maths level 2-790, physics-730
Leader of a the Politics Club of my high school and organized activities on campus during the EXPO

No AP courses because I attend a traditional Chinese high school which has lots of math, chem, and physics homework and it lays emphasis on test scores instead of personal interests or after class activities. Quite hard to prepare for applying to US university over here, esp. keeping the balance btw GPA (made up of difficult math, chem and physics…) and SAT. Teachers and the school do not support your going abroad much… Only a little spare time during my high school.

The past three years suck!!! o(>_<)o But I have never regreted to make this choice. Getting into Chinese universities is even harder. Right now, my classmates are still fighting for the National College Entrance Exam to be held in June. The exam is only once a year, not like SAT, 7 times/yr. And my classmates’ fortune is destined by only one test score, regardless of appli paper and interview blabla. Good universities are limited here in China, and you have to compete with 200,000,000 candidates including those from other provinces, in order to get into Tsing Hua, Peking U, Fudan, SJTU, and Hong Kong U. That’s just too cruel for us 18-yr-old teens.

Hey, I am also Chinese! I heard WFU accepted more Chinese students than past became it wants more diversity.

Yep, and it is a trend in the US schools. Anyway, it is much better to learn in the US. I want to discover what I really like. I don’t want to solve problems from Long Men for another four years. It is too tiring and meaningless. T_T Which city and province are you from?

@zyr1916:
Nice to meet u~>.<
I originally came from Guangzhou~ But I had my high school in New Jersey.

@wxhpoya
Nice to meet you too! I have sent a private message to you. Go and check it right now! It seems not so OK to chat over here in the public forum… Besides, we’d better talk in Chinese haha~

ACCEPTED!! And I will be attending Wake Forest!!
1770 SAT (630 CR) (550 M) (590 W)
Top 6% in my class. Essays were about my life and struggling with going back and forth between two different families. I didn’t interview and I have one AP score for World History of a 3. I am an IB candidate as well. Im from Texas!! :)
