Official Wednesday PSAT Discussion

i studied way too much on the writing section, bad move. it was way easier than expected, although there were a few places where one could easily screw up.

The (a+8)(b-8)=0 question asked for a^2+b^2 and not a+b? I am so angry right now. I know how to do this basic math ((a,b) = (-8,8)) but I made a bunch of silly errors again.

baggins: it asked for the lowest value of A^2 + b^2. so you would choose 0 for the other value.

A(Despite) the B(claims of its) devotees, sunbathing is not always healthful; prolonged exposure C(to it) D(can sometimes cause) skin cancer.

I chose C for the hell of it....... totally random guess

didn't it ask for a+b?
that's what i thought

yeah C. i think the "it" is ambiguous.

AHHHHH! I think I got 2-3 wrong in the math and I have no idea about the rest. I hope it works out

Yea your are right it is C bc the sentence does not mention what "it" refers to

C i think is correct for 31, "it" is ambiguous, since the object, the sun, is not explicitly stated in the sentence

yes "it" is ambiguous. It could be the sun or it could be sun bathing

was the answer to the last question in the improving paragraphs (C)? it had something to do with "but are we happy"

damnit, 5 in the whole for math...i lost to this test

the math one with the expression with exponents. only the first one worked right?

yeah. the z's cancel. so only I works.

yea, "technological improvements....., but are we really happier?", i got that, anyone else?

arrg
i think i missed at least 3 in Writing section...
Are you sure "it" is it?
I put "can sometimes cause"
Shouldn't it be "can cause"?
psh...

yes I only (A), let's discuss the psychology passage!!!

okay, jrcho you there?

comparing how I did to what you guys are saying about your scores, I'm hoping for a big curve. Thats pretty much all we can do now (Other than obsess over wrong answers).

5 in the hole for math, 2 of them being gridins= xx/80?

solve for xx

lets discuss the writing section :)
