For the question that asked what both the female historian and her mother had in common, I said that they both were concerned with "preserving an accurate record of their past."

For the question that asked what the primary purpose of the passage was, I said that it was to "advocate a teaching method" or something along those lines. I think it was D.

For the question asking that went something along the lines of what would the author's teaching method not want to use, i said "history books."

For the question that went something along the lines of what would the author or her mother say about community members, I picked the choice that went "individuals can be useful in providing a view of their community." I really don't know what the answer went like, but it was close to this answer.

For the passage on the ronin and the Japanese guy who was transferred...

I picked "evoke a state of mind" for the question that asked why the author would put such information about his physical apperance.

The question that asked what being nobody meant to the author, I said "being free of other's expectations."

Some other choices I remember picking were "fear of social encounters" and "illustrate his dissociation from others."

Jrcho88, don't sweat it. At all. You have done nothing illegal that I see. Used tests fly around the internet like...uggh....flies. CB publishes them in a book. But I do agree that you should wait till Saturday to scan the rest in. Wouldn't want any chance at all that the Saturday test-takers be given any advantage over the Wednesday takers. (Although I am 100% positive it is a different test, either that or the people at CB are too stupid to live.) I do find it intriguing to think that a fairly accurate scoring key could be developed for the Wednesday administration of the test.

haltahir, i think i agree with most of your answers, but it will all come back once I see the questions. no one will get an ADVANTAGE!!! The only people who come on here are already well prepared for this test anyway.

i don't think it's habitual. he's moving from an old life to a new life. he talks about his transformation in the car. he also talks about how he let his beard grow long and how he changed his clothing. So definitely not habitual in nature.

alex - what was the exact ?.. or paraphrase.. i dont remember...

He was [somewhat] uncertain about [how to use]...

Was [how to use] correct? It certainly is used commonly in oral English, but I'm not sure if it's proper proper grammar.

1) Members of communities believe that they are the best keepers of their society's knowledge
2) Members of communities can offer valuable insight about their lives
(something along those lines; correct me if you know the real question)

the answer is the 2nd one...
mostly bc if the members were the best keepers, she wouldnt be needed. im 99.8% sure about 2

I know that this topic doesn't fit here. I was just wondering how to turn off the setting that notifies you though email that someone has responded to your message. I can't seem to find where it is on my options panel. Thanks.

I aimed for a 220... a bit ambitious on my part, I think. I missed around two (so far) in V and W, and three in M. M is my arena, but I made the most stupid mistakes! I wish I had been paying more attention...
