WAITLISTED! I’ve already decided on another school (the other school is my dream school) and I was expecting a rejection so this was a nice surprise. It almost makes me feel like I could have had a chance had I showed a little more interest in the school.
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!

Reflection
Strengths: Extremely well-rounded; very passionate; high GPA
Weaknesses: High school courseload was a bit weak by W standards (and was not science/math heavy), standardized scores were a bit low by W standards; too many ECs?
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Maybe they thought I was lying about my ECs? Made a lt of small mistakes that might have added up – SAT scores were a bit late, Mid-term grades were a little late, misspelled ‘piece’ in my Arts Supplement, might have sent one too many emails, interview was a bit bland; supplement essay was not personal enough and was a bit confusing… but none of these seem like something to be flat-out rejected for, especially when compared to my strengths?
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: 3 of the 4 colleges I applied to rejected me… Washington University, Middlebury rejected; Elizabethtown Honors/IB accepted
General Comments: If someone could tell me why they think I was rejected, that would be great… I’ve wanted to go to Wellesley since freshman year, and now the only way in is to transfer… I’ve written them to see if the decision was a mistake, and I will be checking with my highschool councelor to make sure she sent the correct transcripts…

@glittervine Yes, I emailed Wellesley a while ago, to send in incomplete forms, and I believe they responded that incomplete material doesn’t affect the financial aid you receive. However, you should definitely email/call them directly and ask.

She is such a cool cookie, though. She opened the file, read the letter, and smiled. Then she said to me, “Don’t you dare be more excited than me.”
@dadmonster They didn’t send emails, you just had to check until it showed up.

Why you think you were wait listed: I was actually expecting a rejection after hearing from my other schools, so I have NO idea.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: A: UT Austin, St. Edward’s, Sarah Lawrence, Rhodes, American (PPL); W: Boston College; R: Kenyon, Brown (ED); Waiting on: Oberlin, Princeton (lol), Reed, Tufts, and Wesleyan.
General Comments: Congratulations, girls! Good luck to all of you and have a fantastic rest of your senior year! Keeping my fingers crossed.
@epancotti WHAT THE HECK HOW WERE YOU WAITLISTED?? I thought all “Likely” recipients eventually get accepted??? How terrible of Wellesley to do this!!!
Rejected!
I didn’t expect to get in though so it’s ok
I can’t follow the format since I’m using a phone but here are my stats
Gpa: 3.7ish? Idk my unweighted gpa
Tests: SAT:2014 ACT:32
I’m 28 out of about 260 at a very competitive public high school.
I visited, interviewed (went pretty badly), etc.
I had a lot of trouble writing my wellesley 100 essay so that probably showed.
Extracurriculars: Im a part of a lot of clubs but actively and not just as something to put on my application. I’ve been in most for the majority of my high school career. I also hold a track record, play in honors band, and am the president of a club. So honestly I think my ECs were pretty good.
My counselor’s recommendation was hopefully awesome since she knows me pretty well and is always praising me basically. my teacher ones should have been decent/good. Nothing that wouldve prevented me from getting in maybe not anything spectacular.
I think I got rejected because my interview went so badly and I just wasn’t a good fit. I wasn’t a stellar applicant to begin with but the interview probably convinced them that I wasn’t worth a spot in the class.
It’s ok, I didn’t really want to go there but congrats to all who got in!!
And for those who didn’t like me, I just want to give you virtual hugs. Just plain old comforting hugs with no judgment.
