i didn't get anything except the generic e-mail saying that they got my app. maybe it's because im an international............... oh i believe i will be getting my letter later than all of you guys then..........:( so sad

I wish everyone well the week leading up to the big day. I'm applying ED II, so if you're feeling the pressure, I promise you the wait can be longer.

When you know, you should totally join this group on the f-book:

Search | Facebook

I can't wait until I have the opportunity to do so.

Best of luck to everyone.

OOOH!!! Thanks for the link!!!
That must be brand new because I just searched for a Wes 2013 group like 3 days ago...

I hovered my cursor over the "Join this Group" link... mmmmm

And good luck to you too!!

wow....
ican't wait till i can actually join the group :(
crossing my fingers hard!

Good luck to everyone!

theres also this group... Wesleyan University Class of 2013 | Facebook

^ is that the one the admissions office made?
because i made one on dec 1st when i found out i got into wes
... i guess they want to make it themselves?

the one i made is called wesleyan class of 2013..
just like wesleyan class of 2012
should i delete mine..?

Anyone planning any bizarre rituals based on your decision?

I got into Bard last month through their Immediate Decision Plan. When the letter came, my mother, being the odd woman that she is, decided to bake celabratory cupcakes. My sixteen-year-old brother made the executive decision that she bakes cupcakes every time I get into a college. If it's a rejection letter, I suppose we'll burn it while reciting all the reasons I wouldn't want to attend that college.

And if it's a deferral . . . uh, more confusion? Maybe something that involves a neutral country, like Switzerland.

I hope Monday brings cupcakes and not fire, but I recognize it's a long shot.

Don't delete yours Zhlee! The reason I shared that link was my own sort of endorsement of the group's name being the same as the groups for the class of 2011 and 2012. Thus, everyone join the group entitled "Wesleyan Class of 2013" in the spirit of those classes before us!

Also, I think the one that the Stewart Reid house made is kind of, um, strange I guess? The whole point of having a class group during the admissions stage is to pander the school the group is about, declaim as to what and how one wants to party at said school, and most importantly, to talk **** about every other school anyone is considering besides.

I don't really want to worry about if and how the admissions office is going to condone what we say in our jubilance and excitement about getting into Wesleyan. Thus, everyone should join a group a fellow admit has made.

On Saturday I procrastinated by compulsively searching for "Wesleyan Class of 2013" Facebook groups. I'm pathetic.

^^^ It's okay. I think we're all in similar state right now :)

Compulsion is my middle name.

waitt you found out dec 1? how?! im counting down the days til the 15th!!!!

Hey, ac32, you were the one deciding between Brandeis and Wesleyan, right?
Me too. I'm glad I wasn't the only one -- I thought it was weird when that person said they were "polar opposites"!

It's funny, because my brother is at Brandeis and hated Wesleyan when he looked at it, and I'm applying to Wesleyan and kinda-sorta don't really like Brandeis (at all). We're not polar opposites per se, but we're very different: he's the math/science-oriented, socially reserved future doctor of the family and I'm the pseudo-hippie, musical/literary, future starving artist. :-P

I have both of those elements in me, so it's hard. Politically active, civil rightsy, unobnoxiously artsy (I do chorus), talkative/opinionated but reserved at first, nerdy (or "intellectual"), not a partier...

I like being around people who are loud and easy to talk to, though. I don't think I'd want to go to a school where everyone was nerdy and compulsive like me :P

There are "Brandeisish" (reserved/nerdy) people at Wes and "Wesleyanish" (loud/artsy) people at Brandeis, though, right? It'd be comforting to know that the schools aren't as black and white as we're making them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Not to bash Brandeis or anything, but even my brother says that there's awkward, and then there's Brandeis awkward. When I visited him for a few days earlier this year, I saw exactly what he was talking about. ;-)

Some level of awkwardness can kind of be endearing.
But at a certain point it's just unbearable.

Whoa how did I post that before you??? I read your "Yeah, I know what you mean" post and replied to it.
Crazy stuff.

(edit: IT DID IT AGAIN!)
