I just joined this forum.
I am applying to Williams and Ivies.
So I have a question.
What’s the benefit of going to a school like Williams over the ivies (HYP)?</p>

<p>There are a zillion reasons, that have been discussed at great length on numerous threads on this forum, but the essential academic reason boils down to this: at Williams and schools like it, teaching undergrads is the number one priority of the faculty; at most Ivies, most of the time, it is not.</p>

<p>Ianrev, choosing williams over the ivies is about what fits you best. For me, a smaller liberal arts college was better than, say, yale. Not that I have anything against yale, but it wouldn’t have been a good fit for me. Williams is different. Education wise, both are excellent schools, but you should choose a school based on whether or not you will be happy there.</p>

<p>I got accepted to. I got an email this morning asking me for a copy of my passport to verify my citizenship for financial aid…didn’t expect to get a letter on March 8th!!</p>
