yea approximately 250 of us 2000 deferees will be aceepted RD.

Depression smothers me!

While a higher percentage of deferred EA apps are accepted, I don't think that it necessarily means that we are given an "advantage," because after all, the pool of deferred apps has already been screened once, and is a stronger pool than the RD apps as a whole. So if the RD apps were to have a large chunk of the definite "no's" taken out from the pile, how much better are the odds reallly?

Not to be pessimistic or anything, but I think they mean it when Yale says that it makes no difference weather you apply EA or RD.

:| sigh .

Your test scores are very good. I am not sure what they are looking for.

I had my guidance counselor call my colleges, and they said that they'd start emailing alphabetically at 5 PM TONIGHT!!! I got mine early, as my last name is "Abington." Fortunately (my #1) Cornell did the same thing, and I'm in there. Good luck all, and so long Yale.

WHATTT!!!??? Can anyone else confirm this??

You can't be serious...they can't release decisions officially until tomorrow 5 p.m. If they released them earlier they would be violating the Ivy League rule.

I'm confused; who are they emailing? The counselors? Us?

That is a cruel, cruel joke if it is not true.... but it can't be because Yale does not email its decisions, you have to check them on Eli which will not let you check them yet.

I have no way of finding out for sure because every one who applied from my school has a last name S, R, T, or W... this really sucks.

I can confirm it's not true. My last name begins "Ar"

I can confirm its not true either! My last name begins with a "C." While that's pretty far from "A" you'd think they'd be at the C's by now, as it's 7:35 EST.

I'm in Columbia..but it feels good to get in. 3.8 uwGPA...1980 SATS.

My name is "Be" so i agree with hammy.

Wait a sec! How did you find out about Columbia already!?

Triplethought: what time did you get your e-mail? My D was deferred and is a Bo...No message from admissions for her here. Oh, what's another day of waiting, anyway. Ha ha. Good luck everybody and congrats triple--are you going? Were you ED, too?

Hammy: why do you want cornell over yale? D was admitted CALs there, still waiting on HYP. What did your email say?

I rubbed his toe for good luck. Got waitlisted today. Still it may have done some good, I've heard back from eight colleges (out of 15) with 7 acceptances and only Yale waitlisted me. Doesn't prevent me from wanting to kick that statue if I ever go back to Yale's campus...
