[] Other stats (Awards, etc.): Ah, a ton of meaningless awards from my school, Yale book award, a small local scholarship, a bunch of science olympiad medals with one state medal, on the strong side, but nothing national or unbelievably amazing.
[/list][ b]Subjective:[ /b][ list]
[] ECs listed on app: Scioly, Gay Straight Alliance, Columbia Science Honors Program, Math Team, Student Govt.
[] Essays (subject and responses): One on how my dad hunts and how i respond to my friends who find it socially unacceptable (not in a rude way, but standing my ground. It was interesting, and on a fairly unusual topic). One kind of lyrical/poetic one comparing how two of my closeted friends act differently when they're in NYC as opposed to in our suburban town, whereas i'm out everywhere i go.
[] Teacher Recs: One fantastic, the teacher and i are best friends, i took her courses twice, was an amazing lab asst. for her, and have been insanely dedicated to science olympiad with her.

**General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:[ /b]Well, I'm disappointed, obviously. I would LOVE IT if I were accepted in April, but I probably couldn't have afforded to go anyway. Congratulations to those accepted. Everyone else, don't worry. There are tons of great colleges out there, and I'm sure you'll be happy at any one of them. Let me share a brief story, at the risk of being corny. Well. I have a friend who ran track with me frosh yr. She tried out soph. yr, and got cut. She was devastated. She needed something to do, however, so she tried musicals. Turns out, she's an absolutely fabulous singer, and she had a leading role in our musical this year. She's so happy with what she does now, and realizes that she was better off not doing track anyway. So don't fret. I know this sounds like crap, and your parents are probably telling you this right now (my parents bought my fave type of pizza... hehe :) ), but you are amazing, and it will all work out. PM me if you need to angrily vent. It's not healthy to hold it in. Peace out. lol. Well, actually, not lol, b/c I was in tears about 45 min. ago, but you get the idea. More accurately, *slight smile. Hey, it's better than nothing, right?

[/ul]Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: yale's really tough to get into and i'm really sad because my midyear report might screw me over. other than that i kinda knew statistically this was what would happen so i'm indifferent, i'll probably end up going to UC Berkeley which isn't so bad.

Ok this has nothing to do with getting in or not, but I just looked back at my deferred post and noticed that I said I got a 4 on the Calculus exam, even though I got a 5. And since stupid CC won't let me edit anymore... I felt the urge to correc tthat here.

Congratulations to all those who have been accepted!

It looks like I'm far from alone in the deferred boat. Let's keep in touch and go through it all over again in April.
