*Official Yale Wait-list Thread - Class of 2016* (if I may)

^ I haven’t :(

@Hpina2: Does the e-mail include any information on how many wait listed people were accepted or how many spots are left?

Thank you

Just got the email. Ensueno, it has no information about that. Sorry.

Got mine also. Good luck to everyone!

@Rush10: Okay thank you. :)

@onglet: Thanks! Have fun at Yale! :D

Just got mine!

I’m not sure how conclusive this may be, but once I logged into ELI and clicked the Information for Admitted Students button, a PDF titled “… Class of 2016 Edited for WL Admits Final” opened. In it, it says stuff about replying no later than the 21st, perhaps meaning that this may be the only group admitted, unless they plan on editing this document for all past waves. This is just speculation though.

Wait… does that mean Yale has closed its waitlist for once and for all?

For anybody who is curious, the official number of waitlisted students is 1001 (taken from the admitted students website)

@lienad60 they will let us know explicitly when that happens. At least that what it said in “The Dean’s Letter.”

I mean, there could be still some hope for us, so let’s not panic. Plus, I think I’m right when I say that this is not the only option for any of us so, although we look forward to it, the world will not end if we don’t get in… right?

Yeah, like Vlessgorian said, Yale will directly tell us when they have stop considering the Wait list, either by e-mail or mail.

And, there is still a chance!

It’s not over guys. Keep the faith! :)

Well, it probably is over if they all say yes. Just a guess though.

Well, I think it’s the end of the line now guys. It’s time to move on.

Let’s wait and see what happens next week after the 21st

Hey guys!

Even though I joined this thread right now, I was keeping a look out on all the posts that people were putting on here. I just got in!!

I’m sorry for the people who have been wait listed or not gotten a call back yet. I’m going to be honest here and say that if they haven’t replied to you by the end of this week, you probably did not get into Yale :(

I applied to Yale and U Penn and got into both. I am 100% positive that I WILL BE attending U Penn. So, someone else can have my Yale spot :)

Thanks for letting us know Purple  When did you get your call? And how do know for sure that’s the deadline is this week?

@PURPLEPANDA: Thank you for this information. Good luck at U Penn!

I think I’ve finally got some closure about the whole Yale wait list, even though they haven’t given us a definite reply back lol I’m set on Brown.

Oh, out of curiosity, did anyone send any updates to their applications? I was going to but the FAQ said they’ll be reviewing our applications based on everything from March and before, though it did state that we could send in updates if it gave them a different aspect or something along those lines…

@ensueno: I didn’t send any updated at all and I got in. Most of the updates that people send don’t have much of an impact in my opinion

My guess is that the only chance of getting in now (for those still on the waitlist) is if anyone accepted off the WL turns down the offer. Then Yale will send the next wave. In other words, our chances are possibly slimmer than ever… It’s definitely time to move on :(
