In my sophomore year, I was tardy 55 times. I was always a couple minutes late to my first period class, but never got in trouble because my parents had written so many excused notes for me. I'm a junior this year and I've been tardy 13 times so far. I'm taking 6 AP classes and I have a lot of homework every night, which means that I'm usually up until 11-12pm doing homework every night. I have trouble waking up in the mornings and my parents have to usually drag me out of bed and put food in my mouth.
At my school, being a few minutes late to school is as bad as being 3 hours late. I was only absent for one day last year, and I don't plan on missing any school this year. Do colleges look at attendance records?

Well, no. But your counselor can definitely make a note of it in a ‘recommendation’ card.
