Oh man, I completely forgot about the midyear report

I applied RD, they received all of my stuff except for my midyear report. I completely forgot Rice requested one. Is it too late to submit it? DO I have to mail it in or is there some form online?

If I were you, I’d call them as soon as possible: 713-348-7423 or 800-527-OWLS.

They’re not open right now but I will. Will they just not look at my application without the midyear report? Because I looked at their list of due dates and it never actually specifies a date, just “as soon as midyear grades are available,” which I know has passed already

Well, Rice hasn’t sent out likely letters yet (if they are going to) and from what I can tell they’re still reviewing right now. Other colleges just set aside incomplete applications until they’re complete; I’d imagine Rice does something similar.

However, most of that’s just conjecture.

Good luck!

For what it is worth: I spoke to the Admissions office today. They are not accepting additional materials for current applications; however, the midyear report is not a required element of your application.

hoho that’s a good news for you JDong!

I appreciate you asking! :)

Today I went to my guidance counselor set on handing her the forms and it turns out Rice had emailed her asking for the midyear report to be filled out last week and she already faxed it over to them so I guess I lucked out.

Wow. I think you should write your guidance counselor a nice thank you note. I can’t imagine that the counselors at our extremely large public high school would be able to handle that. In fact, I think it’s kind of frustrating that colleges require a recommendation from your guidance counselor. The counselors at our high school are each assigned to 700 to 800 kids. How could they possibly know any of them well enough to recommend them?

In any case, even if it’s a small school, that’s a counselor who deserves a big thank you.

Lol 10char
