I have turned in EVERYTHING and the application fee and such by the deadlines. The only thing I didn't turn in was the mid-year report b/c I completely forgot about it.

Are they going to just ignore my application because of this? I'm hyperventilating right now..

Well… I don’t know if they’ll completely igrnoe your application because it’s incomplete, but I’d get your counselor to send it in as soon as possible. Me, for Brown, they hadn’t received my secondary school report yet (even though it was sent a long time ago), so it was assumed that it got lost in the mail (which does happen, alhtough rarely) and they just asked for my counselor to fax it to them. I’m not sure if Columbia would be as lenient as this, but maybe if you just send it right now, they might think it had gotten lost in the mail and you had sent a replacement one.

@yoyoghurtghurt: yeah, it is the counselor’s job, but it’s the students job to go find the ocunselor first… besides, there’s a portion on the midyear report that the student fills out (at least in my school)

I get so exasperated by my school’s guidance system. They don’t even send out legit midyear reports. They only send out midyear TRANSCRIPTS. I guess it hasn’t been a problem in the past since students get into great schools, but it’s still annoying. Why can’t they just follow protocol!?!?

What’s the difference in a midyear report and a transcript? Do they ADD something to make it a “report”? My child’s school just sends transcripts. It tells everything they need to know. Your senior grades and rank. .

It’s not a big difference at all, but as a perfectionist, I’m irked by the fact that they can’t just fill out the stupid form, or use the one I already partially filled out for them for Columbia :P

I’m going to turn it in to my guidancecounselor first thing tomorrow. One questionthough. When I’m on Columbia’s website to track my application is there any way to track the status of my midyear report? I looked before and it just wasn’t listed at all.

@JDong217: This shouldn’t be something to worry about too much. Something virtually identical happened to me about a week and a half ago. I then had the Midyear faxed the next day and they confirmed that they got it the same day (I called and emailed). Time is of the essence right now though (if you don’t mind the cliche), so I hope they get it in time as they finalize decisions. Good luck!
