Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
I am currently a high school senior applying to Cornell's college of human ecology.
I took 3 SAT subject tests- Math2 (800), biology(750), and chem(680).
680...I know.
It's not even remotely close to being a competitive score. Haha, I've been reading threads that ask if a 780 is a good score.
Will one SAT2 score put me at a serious disadvantage?
I am hoping (more like fervently wishing) that my extracurriculars, scholarships, awards, AP test scores, etc. would help balance this out.
JROTC all four years, yearbook editor, president of Make-A-Wish, an art supplement, internships at a medical research center and an art studio, various community service activities, decent gpa and schedule.
I know Cornell isn't all about test scores, but a 680 is a pretty garish number. (sigh)
How much weight could a score like that hold on my admission?

Responses would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you!

It would probably be recommended that you retake it if you’re planning on going into Pre-med because that’s an impacted major and only the best of the best get in to Cornell’s program.

my D only scored a 650 on math1 and she is a freshman this year. Test scores are not going to make or break you. Her highest SATII score was only 730.

My SAT II scores were 740, 720, and 640 =O And I still got in, lol. Like usafa2011dad said, there are so many different factors in your application that it’s highly unlikely that one low SAT II score will make or break you.

Voyager you have got one excellent, one good and one not so good SAT 2 score. Overall, it is not too bad. If you are otherwise a strong candidate based on GPA, EC, leadership, awards, AP, SAT/ACT etc and write good essays, I do not think your SAT 2 scores will improve or worsen your chances. Take Chem again if you are so worried. Good luck.

Your fine, don’t worry about it. Retake if your willing to put in the time/effort/money, but they’ll consider your top two scores most heavily. As long as the rest of your application is solid, a 680 will by NO means, kill your chances. I got in and my SAT2 scores were not as good as yours. There are so many factors.
