I just want to die.. Will my poor SAT2 score ruin my application?

How stupid I was...

I took Math2C and Biology in june, and I ruined the Bio

At that time I was not thinking of ED, so I did not work really hard on it.

I got 780 for Math2C and 660 for BioE.

Fortunately my SAT score is not bad. (W:670 M:780 R:610 Total:2060)

But I am taking SAT1,not SAT2,in oct. because that's the biggie.

My GPA is 4.0 (top 1%)
and I have fairly decent ECAs.
Couple of notable awards...

Even if I send these subject test scores, will I have a chance to get in to Cornell?

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME PRAGMATIC AND REALISTIC ADVICES!!

p.s.
I'm in Canada so our school doesn't provide AP courses.

how about that a 660 won't kill you, one of mine is less and i still feel i have a realistic shot

unless you're a bio major, i cant see how a 660 on an SAT2 could hurt you that much.

Hate to make you more worried but if you think about it your bio score is actually pretty muhc on par with all your other socres. I mean your average SAT section is only like a 687 which isnt that much higher. Your reading/writing is a bigger concern.

Regardless, your scores will not "kill you." If your EC's are impressive you could have a pretty solid shot.

And a 660 on one SAT 2 is not that bad for your app...

you should be worrying about CR 610, not Bio 660...

will a 620 on bio hurt me at the college of human ec even though i'm applying as a policy major?

you should be more worried about your 2060 SAT score than a 660

The problem is that I AM applying to CAS as bio major..

I have studied hard on SAT1 so I am pretty confident about
getting a higher score(around 2100s)

Thanks for all the thoughtful comments but I am still concerned about submitting only those two

SAT2 scores to Cornell..

urrrrrrrrrr~I want Cornell so badly!!

Agreed. You should be more worried about your SAT reasoning score.
2060 isn't bad, but it isn't very good either.
Also, remember most applicants applying to Cornell already have
"fairly decent" ecs and "couple of notable rewards"
Well, you still have pretty good GPA,
so you still can consider applying under regular decision and try to improve your
both SAT I score and Bio score in Nov. and Dec.
Of course you have to give up all the advantages that Early decisions will give you,
but at least you will have a better position.

is the 2060 a superscore or have you only taken it one time

You know what would really ruin ur application? U being dead!

Don't worry about it...ur sat2 scores are good. Ur gpa is amazing and ur sats r fine...just try to raise them.

Apply ED. U definitely have a chance so don't give up. If u get defered u can even give the SATs another try (if that timing works...don't remember the schedule)

i am under the impression that SAT II's are not going to make a big difference in the scheme of things and even SATs can be overlooked.

tomahawk89 is right. there are going to be a lot of competitive applicants that are also impressive, so you need to make yourself stand out at every opportunity, including the boards (SATs).

Please don't want to die... I got a 660 on the math I exam.
Anyway, you have a good chance... please cheer up!
My recommendation: take the SAT again (I know, it sucks, but it's worth it to improve) and focus on CR. Then write your application and try to relax- you're a perfectly good candidate. :)

LOL to Figgy's comment- yes, killing yourself will surely ruin your chances while a 660 on one SAT II will not. :P

Hey I think you need to listen to Figgy, who's going to Cornell and would know about the whole app process. I will just reiterate what everyone else has said--get reading score up, and 660 isn't too bad. Plus, Cornell has like a 40% accept rate for ED pool, so you definitely have a chance. Worry about getting an amazing essay and recommendations.

i got in with a 600 on my physics SAT2

Can you apply undeclared then? Maybe not declaring that you want to be a Bio major can help.

i don't know if it could help for him, but thats just imo

Thank U Guyz...

I was freaked out under the stress but all your comments made me feel better.

2060 was one sitting score, and that was my first shot.

I am gonna really concentrate on my SAT1. This Satureday!!

Let's cheeeeeer up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again thank U Guyz...lol

o wow that was a one sitting score? Get out...haha stop worrying ur gonna do better after this one so don't be so stressed! My first score was so sucky compared to my later ones. GL and don't kill urself lol :)

Thanks Figgy!
I won't kill myself:) I'll just do my best to get a good score this week

Your encouragement helped alot..

And I once thought about applying undeclared, but I thought that clearly showing my academic interest

to the admission officers was better even if I had a low SAT2 BIO score..

Or... would it be better to follow doctorjohndorian's advice and apply undeclared?
