Oh no...tell me I'm not screwed!

I was working on one of my supplements, so I pulled up my submitted supplement for my EA school for reference (the Common App site saves a .pdf file of it that you can view). When I scrolled down to the essay, I found that it was just one chunk of text, not separated into paragraphs. This is definitely NOT how I submitted it; I had pored over the .pdf preview meticulously before I submitted and it definitely had new lines for new paragraphs. I asked the college counselors at school today (they are competent, one had worked at Notre Dame and Duke admissions and the other at Emory admissions) and they said that adcoms understand that things like that happen when submitting things online and not to worry. But of course, I'm going to freak out about it because I want my application to be perfect, but it may be too late to amend that. So do you all think the fact that my supplement essay wasn't divided into separate paragraphs will make a difference? It's a good essay otherwise. Should I fax a new copy of the essay to the school, or is it too late to make a difference?

gahhhhhh i hate applications

Common app can be such a pain! Couple yrs ago we sent a hardcopy of my son's essay to the schools that also received the common app online. Just included a short note, something like, "We thought it might be easier for you to read it this way."

I agree with NJres. Since you're concerned, I would snail mail a hard copy of your essay to admissions with a SHORT note about your concern. I think it makes you look conscientious to send a back-up essay with a brief explanation. However, if you put a long explanation with it, it might make you look neurotic! :) Good luck!

whoops! while we did help my older son a lot (he needed lots of help) I believe the note included with his essay said, "I thought it might be...... ", not "we"... even tho it did seem like a group project at the time!

CommonApp SENDS it how it appears in the print preview, but when you go back after sending, all text is lumped together. Don't worry, it did this for all of my essays. The essays adcoms see will be correct.

Thanks all...I ended up faxing a copy with a short explanatory note, but if 19382 is correct, that's a huge relief.
