Oh ohh

What does this signify?

So I applied to several prestigious summer programs:
TASP
WTP
MITES
YSTP
etc.

And was rejected from all of them.
Should I be worried about what kinds of colleges I'll be getting in to?
I thought I had a decent shot at a few of the programs that I was rejected from.
How do I improve myself-and try harder to get into college?
Thanks!
Also-what should I do this summer?
I don't have any plans.
Should I take classes at ASU or get a job?

Does nt signify much since they are all national programs with 50 seats or less. Colleges on the other hand have a 1000 seats or more and there are lots and lots of them.

Research, volunteer work, job would be my advice.

That doesn’t sound good… at that rate getting into ASU will be a crapshoot. JK I am from arizona and love hating on asu  (my bro goes to barrett and I would too if it were anywhere but here)

Seriously though, it means very little. It means that you are not what those programs are looking for. Try looking at your essays and maybe give them to somebody to get their opinion. For this summer contact some asu professors. My friend did this last year and got an internship at the biodesign institute. It may be easier this year since they completely did away with the official internship program there so researchers will be wanting interns. You can always get a job too.

Seeing as you applied to these programs shows a lot about you and I am sure you will do well.

Here was what I learn: Don’t just apply competitive programs NATION WIDE but look for your local programs as well. They are often not very competitive, but sometimes can contain sweet deal. For example: I got two scholarships, one to Western Europe for two weeks this summer, and one to the Middle East, for a month. Both are local scholarships, not very competitive, but looooookkkk at the destination. Hooray!

thanks for all the advice guys!
i really appreciate it.
i’m looking for volunteer opportunities and emailed some profs :)

@ender94, I tried contacting one of the professors at the Biodesign Institute. The professor was interested in letting me intern, but had to reject me because I was below age 18. Know any professors accepting students below age 18?
