People have started inventing schools now. (And yes, it was actually pronounced "PA"... which somehow makes it more painful because Penn never uses the state abbreviation like that.)

Sometimes when people guess "Penn State" but a different campus, I accidentally correct them with "University Park" because I'm slightly offended, but then I take a step back and am like.... no, University of Pennsylvania.

WHAT'S THE WORST/MOST ENTERTAINING ONE YOU HAVE HEARD?

There are 17 schools with “University of Pennsylvania” in their name:

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania
California University of Pennsylvania
Cheyney University of Pennsylvania
Clarion University of Pennsylvania
East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania
Edinboro University of Pennsylvania
Indiana University of Pennsylvania
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania
Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania
Mansfield University of Pennsylvania
Millersville University of Pennsylvania
Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania
Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania
West Chester University of Pennsylvania

Maybe we need to put “THE” in giant caps.

rename to Franklin University (FU).

I had an awkward convo with a family friend who said, “Oh! I’m so glad you’re going to be in a real college town. Cities are just terrible places to go to school. And what a great football team!” “…Er. I’m going to University of Pennsylvania…in Philadelphia…?” hah. he realized a few weeks ago it was a really good school though, so its all good :P

People always say we should change our name to Wharton University, but like… it’s possible to make “Penn” or at least “UPenn” a household name. We just aren’t being… creative enough.

^ Did you see the ■■■ where someone’s family threw them a “congrats on UPenn!” party when he was really going to Penn State? Even Penn Staters suffer the awkwardness too, haha.

there is a Wharton community college somewhere…

yea i’ve seen that ■■■
and ya there’s a wharton CC, haha

yah, Penn def needs more recruiting. it really depressed me when I would keep pushing “send me more information” and penn followed up on that by…not giving me one iota of paper until april 1. Sigh.
