Stats: 1350 SAT, 30 ACT, 3.7 GPA with toughest curriculum offered at my school, broad range of extracurrics that fit more of a "well-rounded" style.

Top 20 percent in extremely competitive class for my small rural school, probably most academically gifted class in last decade or so. Also hope to bump standardized test scores up, and will take SAT II's. Also taking three AP classes, and maybe even more AP tests.

Major: Business (NOT accounting or actuarial science due to their restrictiveness) and Engineering double

Location: within 7 hours of Columbus Ohio

Other: I have a high EFC and probably little ability to pay it because of my parents awkward financial situation in this economic downturn. So, colleges that would offer merit aid or generally give good aid would be awesome.

Also, I want a school that would challenge me fully, and to be well respected by most. I also really don't want a tech school, since I want to spend some of my days dating attractive women.

So, can you help? any comments would be appreciated.

IU. I had similar stats and got a nice scholarship to Kelley (their business school) as well as being a direct admit into the school. It ranks 16 in BusinessWeek's undergrad rankings and 11 in U.S. News and World Report of undergrad business schools. If you excel in regular classes you can apply for the honors program (pretty selective, only accepts about 150 students of about 1,000 students in the business school for that particular year). Right now you are borderline for getting the good scholarship (9k a year), so if you are considering IU, keep your grades up.

Very funny, Zapakovex. I only have 5 threads, and 3 of them (including this one) deal purely with school selection. I only have one chance thread.

Also, Zapakovex is right, though, that SAT score is only CR&M. My writing is a 750, with a 12 Essay. If his memory was better he could have probably also mentioned that my cumulative score was a 2100.

To give you guys an idea of the range that I am talking about, Washington DC, Cornell University, St. Louis, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Toronto, and Mackinaw City, Michigan are all at the outermost points on this circle. So, anything within these boundaries would be great. Thanks!

Maxellis- what are the requirements for IU honors? That would be pretty sweet if I could make it.

You apply to IU honors between february 1st and april 1st your freshman year, you need to write a short essay about something (last year it was are you chocolate or vanilla and why), you need a 3.7 college GPA or higher, send in your resume, and be involved in clubs at IU. They examine your application in June, so they take into account your second semester GPA (your cumulative GPA must be above a 3.7).

And I also thought it might be a good idea to link my chance thread to this to give y'all a better idea about my stata. Don't really care about chances anymore, but feel free to if you want. I'll probably chance you back if you do.
