So decisions should be sent out tomorrow? So tired of waiting!
I was told we would have a decision by next week
Dang, doesn’t look like we will be hearing today. Any idea when the actual release date will be? I’m thinking next Tuesday but that’s all speculation.
I was told by the end of March and was thanked for our patience while we waited for a decision to be made.
Talked to admissions and was told that the online application status would not change and the information would be sent in the mail only
I feel that if they are saying the status isn’t going to change than that isn’t good news because if we were admitted it would HAVE to change because that is where you accept and pay your deposit and get financial aid and housing. All through Buckeye link.
@osuhopeful2940 @lsatterw8 did they tell you why it wouldn’t change online or when we would know? I was told it would change yesterday most likely and if not tuesday? Everyone is getting different answers
I think I’ve said this before, but at this point my son has already decided to attend University of Cincinnati and will be in the Engineering Dept. His stats are as good or better than my daughter when she applied and was accepted 4 years ago. She graduates in May from OSU in the top 10% of her class at Fisher School of Business and I can guarantee that he could be a great student at OSU. Bothers me and my son that they wait this long to let those being deferred know anything. Like I said before I wish everyone luck.
@momtwo Same for my son, whose older sister was accepted pre-med five years ago without even taking Calculus in HS and proudly graduated this past December in another health-related discipline. He has 7 APs, including Calculus BC, SAT scores just short of 1400 (CR + Math/1450 superscored) and is looking to major in bio. The application was submitted in September. On top of that, both fall into the URM category. He’s in at Case, Rochester, Brandeis, and Wisconsin, so we are not losing any sleep, but our family’s status as total OSU homers has taken a ding from this experience.
Have to chime in here too. Son was an OOS early action applicant for Engineering. Ok, I admit - didn’t visit campus, didn’t show much interest. However, the communication from them has been non-existent. They disabled his login (knowing that he was deferred and would need to keep checking through at least April 1). He requested a new password - took about a week for them to respond. I have relatives who are Ohio State alums - they are as puzzled as we are as to why they treat their deferred applicants as sub-standard. It doesn’t matter anyway…he was accepted EA to his first choice school, Purdue, and has already made the deposit.
After going through the college application with three children now, this has been the most disappointing response from a school of them all - even way back in 2008 when paper applications were still the norm. If this is any indication of how the school is run, I am glad it wasn’t one of his “choices” but a backup because of the program he was interested in.
Good luck to everyone.
I emailed my daughter’s regional rep. He said status would change online and a letter would also be mailed. Said early this week.
Artist709 Thanks for the information. Goodluck to everyone! This has been so stressful for my daughter.
Similar to some of the other posts, she has over a 4.0 at top state school w AP, honors, varsity sports,
but lower ACT. Hope she will get to enjoy last few days of her senior spring break trip.
You are very welcome, Buckeyelvr. The wait has been brutal. My D is actually going to visit her big sis this wknd at OSU. Should definitely know by then.
Called admissions. Everyone should know tomorrow. Letters will be sent and online status will change, im not sure about the time though. They said if you did not receive a notification by tomorrow to call admissions on Wednesday. Good luck to everyone…glad the wait is coming to an end(unless they wait list us lol) Hopefully everyone will report back to this thread with good news!
If I get in and they give me money I’ll have to decide between Purdue and OSU. OSU Definitely has a better location.
Thanks for new info @KR1997, my son is still anxious to know even though he’s decided on elsewhere (unless he changes his mind).
No change yet, as of 1:00 p.m. EST.
Ugh. Do they really have to wait until the absolute last minute to give us our decisions…
It’s like we are waiting for some Ivy League decision here. I’m thinking the status won’t change today (actually afraid to look)
No change as of 2:12, wonder if they won’t post til very end of day?
