Everyone check your mail, they are sending it today so we probably won’t get in for a few days but they did they status will change!
Can’t express my anger at the admissions office at Ohio state. They will not pick up their phones and I emailed the regional rep for my county. This is the message I’ve received
O-H…
I will be out of the office with limited access to email until Monday, April 6, 2015. I’ll be checking email periodically during this time but may not be able to respond until my return. Thank you for your patience.
GO BUCKS!

How nice that you can’t seem to receive any admissions on the day we are told to find out.
Called again and was told to check status between 5 and 6 tonight.
He said 6:00 would probably be best time to check.
still nothing
@Artist709 did they say they were still releasing today
Yes. Today. Said to check at 6:00 p.m. EST. I did… Still no change. Ugh.
Not impressed at all, OSU…
Thinking we will just wait for the mail. From experience 4 years ago with daughter getting accepted it was a big envelope. So small letter size will he bad news. Hopefully they were being honest about releasing at least mailed ones today so by Friday we should all know. I did have a friend who’s daughter was wait listed 5 years ago and then she was accepted as long as she started classes during the summer session, which she did. That would not be an option for most.
Guess we won’t hear anything tonight! Will check mail next few days.
I thought they would email us our decisions in addition to the application status being changed
I know, isn’t that what they told alot of people when they called admissions-post and in mail. I know my daughter’s friend called last Friday and they said it would be posted on the 31st so they have been checking all day while on vacation and I know they will check all day tomorrow.
I’m very disappointed. Is this also the decision day for Feb. 1 applicants? Or is it just for deffered?
I am so disappointed also. The decision was for all deferred applicants not just Feb. 1 applicants. Actually i don’t even think the Feb. 1 applicants would have been deferred in the first place. I just feel that it is so unfair to keep these kids hanging on. The stress is crazy not knowing what you are doing when every one around you has roommates and financial aid in place etc. My daughter has selected to go elsewhere at this point but I feel so badly for those who still have OSU as their top choice and are stuck in this limbo.
this school is extremely unprofessional and clearly doesn’t give a shit about students and communications. I was promised by admissions all week (multiple times) to hear back today and nothing has changed. Going to Penn state.
Maybe this is their crappy way “weeding” freshman out, pissing everyone off so they decide to go elsewhere regardless of outcome. Like my son had told me, he didn’t want to be figuring out living arrangements in April. I agree, they’ve been very rude to anyone who has at least taken the time to ask what procedure is. Maybe the admissions department all need to get on the same page as far as what they tell applicants.
Perhaps this says a lot about the quality of their school? Purdue it is!
OSU is a fine school and I am very proud that my daughter is a graduate. That said, it is not the only fine school out there. The admissions office needs to get its act together next year and quit treating students, especially good ones, in this manner, otherwise there is going to be some serious damage done to the upward the trajectory upon which the university has been headed in recent years.
Based on this admissions experience, my days as unofficial OOS recruiter for Ohio State are over. Like many of you, we’ve moved on to focus on other, thankfully excellent, options regardless of the outcome, but I do hope something comes through for those of you still holding out hope for OSU. Should you get in, I can assure you that your experiences inside the university will be much better than the ones you’ve had trying to gain entry.
I have a junior also so have begun the process with him and can promise osu will not be in the mix. If he wants to go there he can transfer in second year when there is no selection process whatsoever. Sadly my daughter had always thought that if she didn’t get in she would transfer in after a year. This experience has made her not even want to consider that
Very nicely said @sltxdad! I know that the other schools mentioned in pasts posts are all great schools and sounds like all applicants are very well rounded in all ways. Great grades, activities and their desire to continue their education into adulthood. I’m sure everyone will do great in whatever is chosen for their future.
