I am an incoming student for the fall 2018 semester at OSU. I will be going to the Fisher school of business. I have done my own speculation on the dorms and I want to live on north campus. What are the best dorms that I can or should apply for when I get my housing information? Also, let me know what dorms I want to avoid at all costs.

You will be able to preference a rate (1, 2, 3 - with 1 being the highest), an area of campus, and a roommate, but not a building
With that said, those are preferences and not guaranteed (you can preference a rate and they won’t give you a room with a higher rate, but you can get assigned to one that is lower).
The only way to “assure” a dorm is to be in a scholars program assigned to a particular dorm.
If you’re gunning for north campus due to being in Fisher, don’t count on getting into one of the “new north” dorms that everyone covets. It’s likely that the class of 2017 will take all of the rooms that aren’t already assigned to scholars students.
