Anyone here apply or get any response for Eminence?

For those that have received scholarship information were you in state or out of state? My daughter has been waiting patiently for this. Hoping she hears soon.

D got Maximus in the snail mail today. In state. Expected ( 36 act first try no prep, national merit, gpa, etc. ) but good to have. Morrill extremely unlikely, but have someone heard about it yet?
Overall OSU is (relatively) affordable. Also got into Richmmond ( waiting 11 more) where bill is a sticker price of 75K a year, no help. Just wondering how they are going to get people from, say, Ohio to enroll with OSU being a decent option. They do not seem to care at all.

@Dimamar I have seen some people report that they have received Morrill. My D21 is waiting to hear about that and about Scholars. Your daughter sounds like an incredible student.

As for Richmond, if that is where her heart is, you should try to do a financial appeal. Did she receive merit from any other university? Does Richmond typically give merit? Do she meet the criteria for it?

Yes, students have begun receiving notification of Morrill. I was admitted 12/11 and received notification of Morrill Excellence 12/18.

Don’t think her heart is with Richmond, but remaining 11 schools are even more selective, so that is a sign of things to come looks like. As in good to get in, not good enough to get merit, whatever the criteria is. Voted best in class overall by students/faculty, dorm prefect /honor council 4 years, other leadership things she does from her heart, couple of published articles in synthetic bio. Got hurt by covid as far as last spring and summer. She goes to a small boarding school, so preference is a smaller college. Would hate to step on her dream, but Ohio state is not bad. We’ll see. Thanks H0llyw00d:-)

I called and they said late January for scholarships and end of Feb for Financial Aid packages. Its frustrating cuz every other school has provided an aid package. My son is looking at a Athletic scholarship but we are outa state so $ is important.

Thanks. It is stressful, though I have other fish to fry at the moment  Oldest son was average just went OU, no problem. Middle son was really advanced in math/science, was super stressful , couple of rejections ended up at WashU with a decent aid. D is not as good math/science ( though still a microbio major ), but much more balanced and it looks like it will be a stressful process - hopefully something clicks in April. I am an IT contractor, very unstable but did pretty well in 2019, thus hard to get any aid, though future does not look super bright.

Really? I have twins who received their merit with their acceptances to Miami - all in the same letter. Both got full tuition in the Redhawk Excellence. It’s unusual to hear that the merit didn’t come with the offer from Miami

Here’s the million dollar question - does accepting prior to any scholarship offer reduce chances of getting merit scholarship? My son wants to accept his offer as it’s his first choice and it moves you up the stack for better housing options but I’m fearful that merit will be reduced…

I don’t think that will have any bearing at all. If he knows that is the school then accept. The Aid/scholarship will not change. By the way, my son is down to OSU and one other–depends on athletic scholarship and a couple other factors…is there a best, better, stay the hell away from house list somewhere?? We’re from VA–across the river from DC.

Just wondering… For anyone who filled out Scholarship Universe, do you find the questions are kind of repetitive?

what are my chances of getting the buckeye scholarship??

top 25%

1340 SAT (converts to 29)
was accepted into Fisher and applied priority

wrong thread…woops

Sorry - my post got mixed up. Ours son’s Miami package just came in the mail today. Not sure why delayed. Sounds like he got a similar package as your twins. But we’re still crossing fingers on OSU coming through - and right now, i’ll take anything - every little bit helps.
