Ohio State Scholarships 2021

Has anyone else received the post card saying get ready financial aid is coming soon? How soon after did you receive the financial award information?

@american1991 I know we both posted on the other thread. When you said financial award, are you referring to merit scholarships? We didn’t take that postcard to mean that we are getting any merit. I think they are just alerting us that our Financial Aid information would be available soon. From what we heard on the Admitted Student overview in January, scholarship awards will be distributed by the end of February. Financial aid information would be available shortly thereafter (early March). Being OOS, we have only heard about students receiving Buckeye/Maximus from our school (of course, all three we know about have committed elsewhere). It has been very quiet on these OSU threads in terms of scholarships. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I have not received a financial aid post card. I’m oos in California.

They have really changed the way they send out merit. When my oldest daughter went there a few years ago - the buckeye came two weeks after being accepted via mail. Back then as long as you met the criteria it was basically an automatic. Now it’s seems a little more random. When I called they said they already started sending out and should be by end of February. We are oos and waiting to find out before committing.

I just reread your post, so you know 3 people this year that already received buckeye oos?

We are in CA too and have not received the post card. I think it is a mail issue, mine was admitted in December

Me too. I sure hope I get money :money_mouth_face:

@american1991 Same here. We can’t commit until we see how this plays out. My son applied in 2017, and we were shocked he didn’t receive at least the Buckeye with a rigorous HS transcript, 93 GPA, and 32 on his ACT. He got into Fisher and Scholars. That year seems to be a lot more competitive in terms of merit. His friends who had very little interest in OSU received Buckeye. At that time, we were told unused merit would not be redistributed. My daughter asked whether or not unused merit would be redistributed in that January session, and they told her it would be (but that remains to be seen).

As far as the students we know who received National Buckeye, they also received Maximus. These are all high scoring students, applied with test scores, with lots of AP’s.

Wow no one from our district heard about merit for Osu yet. We are hoping. Good luck

Did anyone get another mailing from Ohio state today. Something in the mail. Looks very generic just wondering if anyone received merit today and what the envelope looks like.

@american1991 We received something but I have no idea what it is and won’t be able to find out for another week. If anyone gets it can you please let me know what it is? Thanks!

it was just a pamphlet talking about first year experience. Totally looked like an envelope but was a tri-fold pamphlet

YIKES! I just an email for an interview for Alumni Scholarship. Does anyone have advise for this? I’ve not done any interviews like this. Advice? How do I prepare?

@ehk123 some good advice in this post
