ok everyone i am making this thread to see how the things will be

ok hello there everybody so i am wondering what my chances of being able to getting into Stanford are. I am an 16 year old male of Eastern Indian descent just so that you all know that. i have a score total of 36 on ACT and and a score total of 2370 on my SAT score. but, However, you must know this, although despite the fact that I am in all AP courses I only have managed to have been recieving a total GPA that is 1.2 and yes you are reading that correctly it is that low. I have not been doing as well in my classes that i would have liked to have been doing better in doing the grades in so i can get to school in stanford. but i am president of the magic and computer club in school and i am active in nearly every club at my school. i have also been doing lots of debate on the debate team debates and i have won many of the tournaments that i have done. i am also being on the golf, chess, ultimate frisbee, and archery sport team. i have also been very successful in my other aventures and have made my own successful software and am working on a book. so once again i am asking if you think that you could tell me what you think about he having the chance to go to stanford. thank you very much

Sorry, I think your GPA is too low for schools like Stanford.

you have, no offense, pretty much a 0 percent chance of getting into schools as prestigious as Stanford.
Why not go to your local community college for 2 years, get a great GPA, and apply to colleges so they don’t have to see your high school GPA

@studentecho ok yes thank you for telling me it but i am wondering just why do you think that and could you tell me some more about how to get a better chance because i do not want it to be that way but if it is that what can i do to make sure that it does not do that?

@lnmiller0905 well i know that it is bad to do that but if i go to a community college will i be able to after it go to stanford and then do it??

Is your school just hard as balls, or are you just lazy. I’m pretty sure this is ■■■■■ anyways… but just in case it isn’t.

1.2, did you just not go to school? I feel that’s the only way you could end up with 1.2 is that you just didn’t go to school.
But if you’re school is incredibly difficult, then you might have something to say.

Well, their average GPA is about 3.8-4.0. Sure, your SAT score is very good, but your GPA is about 40% of your application.

Source: The Chief Analyst at Princeton Review held a speech at our school a week ago.

@cheesey18 my schoool is very difficult but some of the grade is my fault because i did not show up to some clasess and others i did not realize how bad my grade was until the end but most it was the teachers fault because they do not like me and have tried to make me fail (not all of them but some of them has)

No offense, but how did you get such a high English score on your SAT with such bad grammar on here?

@studentechno so what can i do for that? is there anyway i can raise my gpa or how can i do it?

Your GPA is too low. Starting at a community college and raising your GPA there significantly might actually be the only possible way you could enter an okay college, let alone an ‘elite’ one. With a 1.2 GPA, you have little/zero chance at schools that are far less prestigious than Stanford.

I honestly don’t see how it is possible to get 1.2 GPA if you’re putting in even the remotest level of work. That’s a D average. And a 2370 SAT score? Frankly, with the writing ability you’re displaying here, this seems very strange.

whats your average GPA at your school then, 2.5?

@studentecho i do not know i just did it how it did it

I’ll be the first one to call BS on this thread.

@chessy19 it is a 2.1 school gpa

So is my only choice to have to go to the community college near my house to get in to stanford or can I still get in it?

No, you will not get in. I don’t like to use absolutes, but with a 1.5 GPA (D average), you’ll get rejected. Go to the community college.

but if i do good in the community college i can then get in stanford? Yes?

…it depends on your GPA out of cc…

if i do really well? then yes?
