I'm so SAD!! T_T
I know it's impossible to get into Stanford & Upenn...etc... but I was just wondering.

I'm an incoming senior.

Thank you!!!
would you prefer that i apply undecided to upenn for ED? or as mathematics major? Also... I'm interested in engineering.. but not completely sure. Should I put in apps for engineering schools?

Thanks so much:]

You are 3.8 UW and yet rank #1 out of a class of 500? Are you sure of this?--seems really unlikely

Also, can you tell us if you are in-state for California (makes a difference at UCLA, UCB and UCSD)

Um... my unweighted is 3.88. But my school calculates rank by weighted GPA.
I live in California... so in-state :]
Thanks.

-UPenn (ED)--slight reach
-Stanford--reach
-UCLA--match (your UC GPA is 4.208)
-UCB--match
-UCSD--safe match
-Johns Hopkins--match
-Brown--match to slight reach
-Yale--reach
-Tufts--match to slight reach
-Emory--match
-Northwestern--slight reach
-Rice--match
-Boston College--match
-Carnegie Mellon--safe match
-Dartmouth--reach
-Cornell--match to slight reach
-Washu--match to slight reach

The SAT verbal and some of your low AP scores are the problem. With a 740 SAT I verbal score, you might be able to get into every one of these schools except Yale and Dartmouth.

Bump Bump Bump!!!

Why would she be able to get into Stanford and not Dartmouth?....

Interesting logic..

Great rank, great GPA, decent/solid ECs, good test scores (I'm sure you can raise it though). AP scores really don't matter at all in admissions, lucky for you =]

-UPenn (ED) - Low Reach
-Stanford - Reach/Reject
-UCLA - In/Match
-UCB - In/Match
-UCSD - In/Safety Honors + money
-Johns Hopkins - Match
-Brown - High Match/Low Reach
-Yale - Reach/Reject
-Tufts - In/Match
-Emory - In/Match
-Northwestern - In/High Match
-Rice - In/Match
-Boston College - In/Match
-Carnegie Mellon - In/Match
-Dartmouth - High Match/Low Reach
-Cornell - Low Reach
-Washu - In/High Match

So let me get this straight....you're an Asian who scored significantly lower on Verbal than Math.

OMG

A Korean with an 800 in SAT II Korean is close to useless.

Low AP scores show that your school is too easy.

-UPenn (ED): REJECT
-Stanford: REJECT
-UCLA: In
-UCB: In
-UCSD: In
-Johns Hopkins: Maybe
-Brown: Unlikely
-Yale........yes i know. T_T: REJECT
-Tufts: In
-Emory: In
-Northwestern: Maybe
-Rice: Maybe
-Boston College: In
-Carnegie Mellon: In
-Dartmouth: Unlikely
-Cornell: Unlikely
-Washu: Maybe

B U M P !

anybody else?

You're only match is UCSD. The rest vary from reaches to very, very high reaches.

icanread... are you sure? ...
cuz I have a lot of friends with similar SAT scores and ec. all of them got into berkeley and ucla. :/
If UCSD is really my only math................i'm depressed. T_T
